@Nhil: I read his question wrong. I read it as "How long does it take for the item to be in your acc?"
Click the X in the top right of it when it's in windowed mode after not logging in for at least two weeks. If you don't like the stuff, you can use task manager to kill it and try again.

OT:
It's about 3-4 months of inactivity for them to let you "win" the log out event.
Once you've won like the other two posters said you receive your gift instantly.

after you get the notification, you can just log in right away. no need to wait 3 days
You get them as soon as you log off.
