How do you upgrade reverse stuff to abyss?

So I bought the reverse pirate 120 glove recipe, and after I craft it I was hoping to upgrade it to abyss. My friend says that you need recipes to upgrade them, if so I can't find these in Basil's item pages, so if you upgrade them with recipes, how do you obtain them?
