How to Prevent Some Disconnections v.94:

[header] Preventing Some Disconnections [/header]

These disconnections most likely occur to Vista/Win 7 users.

[header] GameLauncher unable to execute.[/header]

Set the GameLauncher to "Run in Administrator Mode"

For Vista/Win7 : You can do this by Right Clicking > Compatibility > Check "Run in Administrator Mode"

[header] "You have been banned for the Hack Reason" [/header]

This usually occurs when a party member of yours has "Alt+Tabbed". This lags the monsters on their screen, and since you are attacking lagged monsters it will appear as if you were using a delay/lag hack. This will cause Maple to detect you as hacking since you are earning them EXP. However, it has not been reported to have banned anyone. Ask your party members to go into Window Mode instead to preventing them from constantly disconnecting you. The other option is to leave the party. Leaving the party will prevent you from being disconnected.

This can also occur at random times though.

[header] Black Maple Log In Screen [/header]

If your Maple starts off in Window Mode, change it to full screen right away. (Using Alt+Enter)

To prevent the black screen when you just log on, double click when you open MapleStory. Do not let the Big Bang Introduction video get to you. This will cause your Maple to get a black screen and prevent you from logging in without being disconnected. However, there is currently no way to stop you from disconnecting when you log out of the game to log into a new account.

[header] Cash Shop Disconnection [/header]

No one is sure why they are disconnecting when entering the Cash Shop. However, you can enter the Cash Shop if you re-open MapleStory and entering the Cash Shop is the first thing you do.

A fix people have said to be working is to not have more than 18 items in each slot (Equips, Use, Set-Up, etc.) The 18 items in each slot also includes storage.

This may or may not work for some users.
Bossing Disconnections: Any disconnections that occurs during bossing can be solved by disabling your sound card.

Some people have reported that using the 1024 resolution/Highest Quality or Lowest Quality graphics have enabled them to boss fine. This is worth a try if none of the solutions work.

[header]Other[/header]

To run MapleStory at a faster speed, I recommend using GameBooster.

With this program, you can stop programs from running that you do not need at the moment. You can also turn "Gaming Mode" off and on. Be sure to defragment your MapleStory folder to help reduce lag.

[header] Be sure to report any other disconnections you may be having. [/header]
hey off topic here: how come the maplestory website isnt working?
It's working for me. Try logging in, and then press 'Start Game'. There should be a program listed that will allow you start the game from the website.
How do I run MS in Run in Administrator Mode for Vista?

Mine is grey boxed out!
Did you run "GameLauncher", not MapleStory. If it doesn't work, try running from the website instead.

But a question, So someone has a higher chance of dc'ing when they have bad pic quality on?
It actually varies on the compuer/operating system. Some work cooperate better with bad quality, and some cooperate better with best quality. Just test which one cooperates better with your system.

-DCING due to sound card issues has been resolved.
-Black screen auto-boot dc after typing in pic is due to some maps requiring the graphic quality of over 50% (The system option tab after pressing ESC. The thing that says graphics starting from fast-> slow. Has to be set at higher than 50%)
Cities I know that have the black screen auto boot is happyville and hibiscus road 2 through Spooky world in malaysia

1024x768 works best to prevent flickering screen (I don't dc anymore with 1024x768 ;D_
mm alright i will check that. when i start the game, am i doing this from the site (i think its the only method of getting on maple now) or running the actual client from the folder? also, when i do run it either way, it will ask for permission with Continue or Cancel as my options. but yes, i will make sure it is in admin mode

do you know much about the 'data is invalid' or perhaps come across that particular error code before? i am quite doubtful that re-installing will solve this but it is the last thing i have left that can be tried.
Run the actual client in the folder, the name is "GameLauncher".

@OniDusk : Thank you very much.
@Ellinia: different account? do you mean account or different character? yes i have tried maxing both resolution and quality and it did nothing. as for my directx, it is already updated to directx11.

i now have the installer downloaded and will be re-installing the game. i have a slight paranoid feeling that it will present more problems instead of fixing them.
@FirezRage

I think you said you tried this already but, log onto a different account. Change your resolution to 1024 x 758 and highest quality. Then log out, and try logging onto your stuck character. If that does not work, try re-downloading/updating your Adobe Flash/Direct X. Specifically DirectX.

If none of those work, then I would recommend downloading MapleStory. To download MapleStory fast, take out your MapleStory folder/Nexon folder out of "Computer". Then go to the website and log in. Click Start Game, and the installer should be faster.

ahh Ellinia help me please! i have a problem that no one else seems to have. i have gotten my character stuck in a glitched map, more specifically 6 paths crossway. i have been told by a friend that she is able to use the paths perfectly fine, she is a Windows 7 user and i am a Vista (business) user. after putting in that PIC code or w/e, my client loads and i see the background (ellinia background in my case) for about half a second, nothing else has enough time to load. i am not able to see my character name, hp and mp bar, hotkeys or anything else. it immediately closes after i see the background. i have already logged a ticket to nexon, but knowing them it will probably be answered in about a months time. i want it fixed now >_>.

any possible solutions? i have tried the quality low --> high max resolution, high-->low and other stuff. now i am resorting to the ol' 're-install maple and hope it will fix'.

the message i get after maple closes is: "error code: -2147024883 (The data is invalid)", so far i've gotten 3 characters stuck, each in a different map of 6 paths crossway, why did i get the other 2 stuck after the first? cuz i thought it was just (1 map west of ellinia) that was glitched. turns out the actual 6 path crossway map is also messed. then on the 3rd character i went through the perion route to 6 path crossway, turns out that is messed too. PM me or post if u know something about this mess. it would be greatly appreciated.

On the Cash Shop disconnects, I don't think it's an actual limit of 15 or 18 or any specific number. I was able to finally enter the CS after I emptied about HALF my available inventory slots. I have a lot more slots than the standard amount, and I know for certain there were WAY more than 18 items in each tab, AND the (expanded) storage space was practically filled.

My guess is that it's the proportion of filled to empty that's the key.

You need to reboot your computer. End all processes that involve MapleStory

A lot of people seem to be getting that error, I think it's a false accusation or abusive Lie Detector usage.
