Anyone who knows computer hardwares well, question please

Alright, so over the years i've been constantly upgrading my computer. However, lately i feel like my pc is really lacking in performance. I feel like it could or should perform better.

So after taking a look at my system specs, i've come to the conclusion that maybe it's time for me to upgrade my processor?

I have a total of 4gb of ram, 260 gtx nvidia graphic card and a Intel core 2 duo with 2.1 ghz.

Would it be safe to say that my graphic card won't be used to its fullest extent seeing how my Intel core 2 duo is quite old now? The speed isn't really the best nowadays either. Just a guess, care to share your knowledge? Would you recommend upgrading my processor?

edit: Title typo... "hardware"

@GuardianWyrm Oh you don't need to upgrade for some time unless you really want to. My buddy on basil somewhere has an even older computer processor and computer itself and its working like a computer nowadays. If you really want to you could always upgrade your processor because your graphics card is okay

maybe check out an ssd

HUGE performance boost...

as for your cpu bottlenecking the gpu, i doubt it

edit: and if you really feel like your cpu is getting slow, you could always try overclocking
