back to school this week
everyone already started school, I know, but I guess I just wanted to vent. i'm going back to start the second semester of my first year of uni on thursday, I'm not too happy about it. My major is a closed major with like 100 students in my year so everyone knows each other. It feels a little bit like high school again. I went to a cc before transferring so I kind of miss getting to meet and be around new people every few months. It's gonna be weird for me going back to seeing the same faces again.
idk
how is everyone else doing with their second semester?

@TheZigen with me, I LOVE chemistry... I took AP chemistry, got a 4 on the exam, and got college credit... took the next chemistry class during the summer and got over 100% in the class. im really excited to do some undergrad research when I transfer
This semester will definitely be a lot more intense than last semester.
Last semester I took two BS theatre classes that were easy AF, orgo I, inorganic chemistry, and calc-based E&M.
This semester I'm taking cultural anthropology, differential equations, orgo II with an AWFULLL and EXTREMELY difficult professor, molecular biology and genetics, and a core theatre class where we read 25 plays and bunch of other supplemental texts about playwrights and history. So I have stupid amounts of reading to do and math here is LITERAL hell. So it's going to be a hell of a ride.
Then I'm the master electrician for a show coming up in a few weeks and I'm doing my very first lighting design for a show in April so I just have a lot on my plate on top of my classes this semester.
@TheZigen: Too late, it's already official; I made a thread on it.
@NoobCake: you haven't even proposed and you're gonna ask them on the day of? I don't think ur putting enough into this relationship. I only haven't said no because I like to have lots of marriage options open. You never know.
@TheZigen: Kk true, I'll ask them on the wedding day if that'll make you happy. (PS. love how you didn't blatantly say no yet )
@NoobCake: You haven't even asked my parents for my hand in marriage. no respect these days...
@RheeBreezy: ooh that's really cool. I had a friend who was trying to get into forensics but the chemistry killed him. Eventually he switched majors haha. Good luck to you! Chem was an awful subject for me too but I only took it in HS so i can only sort of sympathize with the difficulties
I'm in my second year of CC right now, second semester starts tomorrow... and I'm not too excited about it.
I'm taking Microbiology, Anatomy & Physiology II, and Organic Chemistry II... taking both A&P and OChem last semester kind of killed me BUT I got out with both Bs in the class. I'm planning on working extra hard this semester and with a lot of problems out of the way (for now), I think I can do it.
I changed my major from pharmacy to forensic toxicology, but I'm really excited about the change. I'm going to apply to universities right now to transfer and get a BA in Chemistry, then get a Masters in Forensic Science. So yep
@fradddd: it's ok knowing everyone except all the people I like are also friends with the people I don't like lol
@irony: I don't really need to join a group...I've hung out with people to get coffee/study/whatever, but the good friends I've made are with people who aren't in my major so it's less of a chance to hang out with them. im not bummed about it too much, I'm mostly just upset about having to put effort into school again haha
oh really? coffee and study seems to be a good start, i'll assure you that things get better. it's kind of like the same thing every semester where you're a bit sad in the beginning
@TheZigen: Oh be careful! I just said a personality, not a nice personality I'll arrange the wedding for Friday, right before my Poker event at school.
@NoobCake: thought u were looking for a girl with a nice personality. I ain't got no such thing
kisses&hugs to you too!
When's our wedding?

Its been harder to adjust because of a more demanding schedule, (have to spend hours more than I did last semester at school) but I've made some good friends.
Try to join a group?
Well, I wish my major had like 100 people when I go to college, That seems nice to know everyone...I barely feel familiar with most of the people in my classes even though I'm a senior in high school and I've known some of these people for like 6 years.
But I might major in marketing so there will be like a thousand people.
School's been alright so far. My professors are chill for the most part, I and met some cool people. Kinda bummed I had to drop my astronomy class because it was inconvenient to my schedule but I'll just take it next quarter
I just wanted to ask how cc was for you, was it difficult to get decent grades?
it was like high school but without homework (so it was actually much easier than high school)
I got out with a 3.77 overall gpa after two years but only because I got lazy/didn't study or try for certain classes. I felt I could have easily gotten out with a 4.0 if I'd put in the effort
@noobcake: kisses&hugs to you too!
No don't worry, your rude and sarcastic responses will surely make it easy for you to make friends!
