Aging in Gaming

I'm just going to copy and paste my post from that topic about the girl looking for everyone's age. It got me the idea to type this up, and I'd like everyone to discuss about it.

If you have a hard time following the topic, this link should put you on track with this one:

It's like deciphering whether you're a Halo fan or a CoD fan. Those that had a childhood full of Halo 1, 2, and 3 should be full-fledged Halo fans. However, anyone who was below the age of 8 or 9 when Halo 3 came out was missing out, moving towards CoD when they became of hardcore gamers at 10. That's why the majority of CoD players are kids from the ages of 10-18, whereas Halo's current playerbase would range anywhere between 16-Adult, because these guys lived through the revolutionizing gameplay of Halo 1, 2, and/or 3.

Maple back in the good old days..... That's where and when most of its playerbase came to be, and our current society is composed of mostly the loyalists from before 2010. Our community has matured, so newer generations have to deal with what we give them. Those who are 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 are moving towards MMOs other than Maplestory, because they are growing up with newer and different games.

Then there are those who move forwards to better standards in more mature games. It used to be the norm to move to a Blizzard game, but now we have games such as Vindictus and Tera that make WoW outdated, so those who reach 17+ move to these games instead of WoW.

That's how aging in the gaming industry works folks.

EDIT: You don't have to agree with anything I just said. It does not apply to everyone.

what are you tryin to state here homie? that each generation has their niche of games? for me, it was the hay day of arcades, ppl complain about how ppl spend real life money on a game that they dont own, but 20 dollars in quarters only lasted 2 hours tops. each gen of gamer will always succeed the previous in both innovation, story, and fan base. im just glad i was there when it started, and prolly when my kids put me in a retirement home, the only thing imma want them to bring me is my xbox 1780 and renew my live

I must disagree because im 12 and i still like maplestory and a gamer of both Halo/ CoD
But I must agree with most of your statements
Just pointing out the majority. And no, I don't have any statistics to back up my statements, but everyone should be able to agree with them though.

Maple back in the good old days..... , Take off the goggles my friend.

Tera that make WoW outdated Tera's Dead i wish it would of thrived but sadly that was not the case, admittingly WoW needs to die its run its course but Tera is not a WoW killer, MMO's need to stay away from WoW's model completely imo.
