It's completely relevant in that you recommended programs that have just a couple features each, whilst mine has ten (10) features.
And yet neither one of them shares a single feature. They scan for different things, therefor not one can be better than the other. End of story.
Malwarebytes is an Antimalware program without real-time protection on the free version (while viruses does fall in the malware category, it has a smaller virus signature database than an actual antivirus like AVG. Meaning it won't detect as many viruses as them, but look for viruses that AVs known to miss. It is meant to work with your AV not replace it). I do agree with getting it though along with any AV the TS choose.
Spybot is also an antispyware program
I know o_o
I was making fun of all the people I assumed were arguing over which AV is better. But actually reading through the comments, this thread has accumulated no idiocy (besides for my own now. Damn.). I apologize for assuming idiocy was to be bestowed upon this thread. ;P
Edit: See commenter above for said idiocy. Arguing something against something else that is hardly related. Zing! (Even though I was the ground for his idiocy)
Get Malwarebytes or Spybot search and destroy. They're both free and they both cream the hell out of AVG.
Spybot is also an antispyware program which will look for something different.

Download the free version of AVG + Malware-bytes.
I really don't understand why every think norton is a crappy anti virus. I had to for a good 2 years and every trojan or other virus I get got deleted like a boss.
My experience with it was a lot of false positive, miss detection, and on top of using up a lot of your system resources. Of course, I can't really apply my past experience here and deem it to be bad base off of that, as my past experience (4+ years ago) say nothing about the newer versions of today. Now, I only used free version and don't really care about how paid version do.
AV-Comparatives does benchmarks on a lot of the known AVs, atm. If you want to see how well they do compare to the others, go there. Of course, I believe it may not review other features that they may have and factor it in (like for example, Avast has a boot-time scan, where it will scan your system before windows load up. While Avira don't have that feature but has a higher detection rate). You have to do research on that yourself and choose accordingly.
The fact that you used Norton is hilarious.
I'd say you're already screwed.
I use AVG, full package.
