Skrillex isn't dubstep, he just MIXES majority of electro AND dubstep together.

And it does get annoying when people talk about him, I have some classmates like him just cause the seniors liked him. LOL.
The force is strong with this one.
I don't like dubstep.
I mean, I just don't get the point of it?
What in dubstep makes it a spectacle worthy of being heard?
I listened to one dubstep song and immediately ripped the earphone from my ear.
It's like listening to an un-oiled machine but with a smoother flow.
with some of that logic whats the point of listening to music at all?.

@Airlyve: i've tried to make some dubstep in the past,it was ok.but i used computer programs like Reason and Fruity loops and they're pretty confusing,so i decided not to release any of that untill i get real equipment.sorry, but it shoulden't be too long till i get equipment.
Im sorry this just can't be any more wrong.
First, please "research more dubstep" before telling others to research dubstep.
Now dubstep is NOT a series of "wobbles" among other things
Many other EDM genres use this form of lfo cutoffs as a way to keep the energy up, seriously go listen to some dnb, and house as some much more slowed down versions of this
However,
what does charecterize dubstep is:
1) A original bpm of roughly 140 give or take
2) A half-time percussion, that makes the song feel very slow, usually this effect is exaggerated by using a regulator time percussion all the way up to the drop
3) A strong sub-bass line, no not that usual WOMP WOMP, but a more subtly, rounded, and full sub-bass that goes with the original 140 bpm.
Unfortunately,
Many dubstep artists now-a-days (i.e. rusko, caspa, downlink, FP, Chrispy, Modestep, or almost anyone on ukf for that matter) has lost that mainly #3 in replacement with the womp womp, however you (OP) seem to be very into "researching" and therefore should at least know this right?

Lastly, you seem to be hating on the fact that skrillex isn't dubstep, but the truth is, im willing to bet that the only reason you bash on him is because thats what you see all the "cool dubstep kids do"
i bet you can't name 3 of the original "founding" fathers of dubstep without googling it.

sorry if i sound like a self righteous ass, but i get really pissed off at people who think that they know some stuff about a music genre.....
/hipster rant
Shocker, hipsters don't listen to dubstep.
really? you knew it, yet when you complained to others that they should learn about a genre more, and they asked you for guidance, you decide to send them in the wrong direction?
and i asked for 3 not 1, but you know, whatever floats your boat
Skream, Benga, Mr. Oizo.

amirite?

@dwee456: Dude first thing, yeah i know all that, and one of the main people that founded Dubstep was Skream. And again i'm not hating on Skrillex and to the people who say most of his songs are Dubstep are sadly mistaken.

P.S being a future Dubstep artist i would have to know all that to even get started.
Please show me wich of his songs are dubstep, because in total theres about 2,3 if your lucky.
pretty much every song he's remixed, his more popular songs are "dubstep"..
keep in mind there's also a reason as to why his most popular songs are the dubstep ones, maybe there's a reason as to why everyone says he's a dubstep artist..
Not "mainly". A majority of his popular songs are dubstep.

A lot of his songs are dubstep, he does make electro too though; and yea it's my name.
He's mainly electro and house, the only dubstep songs he has are pretty much forced.
I'm honestly really sick of people hating on Skrillex for being "mainstream". People are calling him mainstream because he is getting extremely popular, people, That's what happens when artists/producers are GOOD. Skrillex is something unique, you can dislike his music but you can't deny he has talent.
I'm not hating on Skrillex,i actualy admire him,but when people sit there and call of his songs Dubstep it anoys me sooo much.

OT:We have the same name if your basil ID is your name.

No,i am not the "Dubstep guru" it has been proven that i am a Dubstep badass, anyways.DubStep is a mix of melody and wobbles among other things, most of skrillex's music is not like that at all,i feel sorry for the real DubStep fan's and artists that actualy know what their talking about.
