I am thinking of going the 16/18 distribution
where i put 16 into sweeping and 18 into tornado
the reason being:
at level 17 and on wards Tornado only have a 4sec cooldown and uses 32(?) MP
while Sweeping's MP usage increases at lv 17

But in the end the skills only get 1% damage increase per level and isnt required for any of the 4th job skills, do whatever you see fit

Falcon dive>>>>>>Sweeping. It may look cool and is really good at aliens before 4th job, but Falcon dive is just a much better skill that deals much more damage and chains just as well. You can use sweeping still to mix it up here and there but it's overall damage output is not worth maxing it. Tornado blade will be much more useful at LHC since Sweeping doesn't seem to even rush the mobs together. I just do Whirlwind Cut into Falcon Dive, then finish them off with a Tornado Blade.

Cool skill, but the damage increase at max level isn't worth the points. It's meant to combo into the attacks that deal the damage so leaving it unmaxed is just fine.

Sweeping made training at Aliens a breeze, it has the longest range out of all the skills and it hits 5 lines; was just 1 hitting everything on each platform
Tornados range isn't very far and it has a cd... Meh
Both of the skills are useless after 4th job anyways imo, so I just maxed sweeping =D
Sure the camera view sucks, but you get used to it

Edit: Do you get hit while using Sweeping? I've never noticed; could be used to avoid getting hit by some bosses?

I went tornado because I'd only use sweeping as a rush which I never really need the most damage on. The cooldown isn't too bad at 4 seconds because I'm mixing the whole combo chain so by the time I need to use Tornado its already cool downed .

I went with sweeping.

Looks cooler.
