ZombieOverlord finally joins LoL

After much time, I've finally decided to give in and try out this game.
Any tips for me? What champions that are good and whatnot?
It's almost done downloading.

Main differences from my personal experience:

LoL:
-Easy
-You're really going to need teamplay in most games if you want to win.
HoN/DoTa:
-Difficult
-One man can win a game.

just go onto the LoL wiki and browse champions
it'll give you all the tips and tricks/strategies/build guides/item lists
everything
also has how-to-play videos for most of the champs

recommended starting characters are
ashe, master yi etc
usually characters with very few active skills that only use autoattacks </3

I like riven a lot though
very mobile and can pull off crazy kills

it seriously depends on your playstyle
gee jake, must be a LoL veteran

LoL is very noob friendly compared to HoN which has no mercy for the weak and is just a huge rage fest. I suggest you play ALL the free champions for a few weeks to get a hang of the huge variety of champions, easy champions have been suggested above^^

Don't play Master Yi or Tryndamere.
You'll get used to steamrolling noobs, then suck ass when you start playing real people.
I recommend playing an AP mid and getting used to the idea of playing conservatively (not being aggressive and risky) and just farming...
Then once you get to a point where your teams start having junglers, play as a jungler or solo top and also get used to bot-laning a bit.
Eventually you'll want to practice with AD carry a lot.

when you get to lvl30, dont dive into ranked right away. Get good at the game before diving in.

Start reading guides on sites like TSM and Mobafire to get into the game quick. You'll be playing blind pick games first, so it doesn't really matter what champion you'll be playing. I suggest ranged champions, as they are much easier for beginners. Or try OP champions for low-skill games such as Master Yi, Garen, Sion, and Darius if you can afford it. First thing you'll need to learn is last hitting and positioning. Always be one step ahead of your enemies. Don't risk too much if they are a higher level or ahead of you. Dive only when you are certain about what you are doing. Check their HP/MP and of course your own. Don't dive when you don't have your lane warded or sense that their jungler is near. Get to know what skills and passive each champion has so you can decide wether a trade is going to be in your benefit or not. Start with smart casting as soon as possible, as it will help you a lot later. Don't mind the trolls and smurffs in the early levels (Smurff are people who felt like making a new account, are still on a low level with it, and therefore matched up with you. It are often people who are actually really bad for a level 30, ruïned their elo and made a new account. Sometimes it are just pro's having some fun with their smurff) Start playing draft pick games if you see that you are often ahead of your enemy and your own team. Don't care about kills too much as farm is mostly far more vital. Do however grab every kill you can get, never miss out on a free kill. Communicate with your team, farm when necessary, don't do stupid things, don't hate on your team no matter how bad they are. (I laugh at ragers bad) Get to know the META, watch livestreams, see what they are doing, write things down, statistics, counters, item builds, situations, and most of all: Play a lot
I thought Annie was quite easy to play. Just use your Q to farm and build up your stun and then Q and W, but if you have ult you would usually stun with your ult then do your combo.

Ashe and Graves are both easy to play for beginners.
Q refreshes mana if it deals the killing blow.
Most Annies use W to build up their stun.
Not to mention her massively small range makes it hard for beginner players since they need to know how to kite/dodge.

Lvls 1-10 is painful (smurfs berate you, even if you are new)
10-20 is annoying
20-30 is hilarious (how bad we are, yet we have fun)
30 is where the fun really starts.

As for beginner champs, I'd recommend Ashe, Master Yi, or Garen.
Annie is impossible for new players. I still can't handle her.
DO the tutorial. It's better you know what to do, than turret dive everytime.

@hiphop: i'm sorry but whenever i play hon i have people who refer to any "bads" as "lol players" and that alone makes me dislike that game's community more so than league's

but every moba has a terrible community, it's a given

AHAHHAHHAHA OH GOD OOOHHHHH GOOOOOOOOOOOD

I'm sorry but HoN is more of a clone of Dota, Atleast LoL changes some things and has a different art style. 7 EMERALD POST TAILS

Also
>RTS

Moba's NOT RTS

Also why is there a larger compeative circuit for LoL then HoN if hon is so SRS?

Since when did RTS games have good communities? All of them are equally bad.
OT: I would suggest buying the 450 champs first!

Don't bich at the wait times for the North American servers if you live in the U.S. I don't know if they still have them though.

who plays a game for the "community"? you play it to have fun and when i say have fun, i mean winning and killing things. in this case, champions
whats your summoners name babe?
I assume it's BlankBoom, darling~

In other news:
I was interested in HoN initially, but LoL seems to have a stronger playerbase, especially on Basil.

@HipPop I object. That's subjective.

Ryze is quite easily one of the simplest champions to play.

^^ "HoN is full of mature players" that's a good joke
LoL is just a copycat of HoN.
LoL and HoN are both based off dota but if you really want to get picky with it, LoL was released before HoN so if anything HoN is a copycat of LoL
