Facts, Rumors, and the Truth about Jaira

This thread explains everything you will ever need to know about Jaira, the rare midnight-colored Jaguar. Everything including spawn times, rumors, untrue rumors, facts, and everything else I can think of.

This one thread will hopefully stop or at least reduce all of the other threads to some extent about people asking questions about Jaira instead of questions about the actual Wild Hunter.

[header] What is a [b]Jaira[/b]? [/header]
A [b]Jaira[/b] is a special rare darker-than-black Jaguar with yellow glowing eyes with a scar that gives extra speed and jump than normal Jaguars. Jaira has 180% speed and 120% jump, to be exact.
Jaira is quite wanted amongst all the Wild Hunters, making him pretty endangered almost to extinction. Ok, well, extinction is really pretty impossible in this game, but you know what I mean.
When Jaira appears, there will be blue text saying [b]"Jaira has appeared from between the boulders"[/b]

[header] Ok, cool. So I know what a Jaira is now. [b]How do I get one?[/b][/header]
This is a pretty tedious process. [b]You can catch Jaira by going into the Jaguar Habitat in Edelstein by talking to Black Jack, the Jaguar NPC.[/b] Of course, you have to be a [b]Wild Hunter[/b] in order to enter the room.
This room has multiple Jaguars of every color; Black, Dark Blue, Dark Red, Purple, and Light Brown, and if your very lucky, the rare Jaguar that we are looking for. Jaira spawns between a specific certain time each day/night.
There are a ton of people looking out for him, camping in whatever channel and room they want. If you happen to find a Jaira, you must be one really lucky person. There is one thing you should know about, though, and that's that there is more than just one Jaguar Habitat room per channel. It might not look like it at first sight though, because its pretty hidden.

[header] What are the [b]Jaguar Habitat rooms[/b] and how do I get to them? [/header]

The Jaguar Habitat has more than one room per channel, as explained above. Its hidden and you cannot usually tell what room your in unless you do it by the process explained in this section. If you want to know how to tell what Jaguar room your in, this is how:
First off, go into the Jaguar Habitat, right now. Its recommended that you put MapleStory into Window Mode for this process.

-Once in the Jaguar Habitat, go to [b]Start[/b] on your computer.

-Click [b]Run[/b]

-Type in [b]regedit[/b] if it isn't already typed in

-Go to [b]Edit[/b]

-Click [b]Find[/b]

-And finally, type in EXACTLY [b]siFieldID[/b]

-It should have highlighted the siFieldID bar on the big list of mumble jumble. [b]Look towards the far right of siFieldID. You should see a 9 - digit number. Only pay attention to the last 3 numbers in that code. That is the room number your in.[/b] Here is a chart that indicates what the last 3 digit ending numbers mean on that code:

-There are 10 Jaguar Habitat rooms per channel. Now, you did the process of finding out what room your in, and you keep getting the same end 3 digit number every time. Why? Because [B]there has to be someone already in the first Jaira room for you to succeed into the next one.[/B] In other words:

[B]-If there is someone in room 500(1), you go to room 509(2). If there is someone in both room 500(1) and 509(2), you go to room 508(3), and so on.[/B]

[b]-There has to be someone in a room for you to be able to succeed onto the next.[/b]

[b]-If there isn't anyone in any of the rooms, your going to stay in room 500(1) until you find a channel that has someone in the room.[/b]

[b]-If you change channels or go into the cash shop and come back out within a map, lets say map 509(2), your going to stay in that map. You wont be transported back in room 500(1). Also, people that have CCed into a room do not count as an actual person inside of that room. That meaning, if you go into a Jaguar Habitat room via Black Jack, and you see someone inside, that's because they CCed to it and didn't enter that room via Black Jack.[/b]

[header] [b] [ALTERNATIVE METHOD FOR FINDING OUT WHAT MAP YOUR IN] [/b] [/header]

I got this message recently about Jaira. Turns out there IS an alternative way to find out what map your in besides using regedit. The message states:

"Hi~ I read your thread on finding a "Jaira" for Wild Hunters.
& there's actually an easier way than the regedit to check if you're on a "map 1" sector.
Simply, all i did was enter the Jaguar Area, drop an unagi, and enter and exit until i enter a Jaguar Area that doesn't have the Unagi.
Obviously, not forgetting to replace the unagi every 6~8 entries to make sure it doesn't disappear.

I'm still searching for it though, But i'm sure this information would help alot of people.

So, basically, you just enter the Jaguar habitat, drop an item of any kind, and keep going out and in until you go in a room that does not have the item you dropped. This may take a little more time than if you use regedit, but this method can be very useful for those who cant use regedit or don't know how to. [/c]

-So, there you have it. That's how you tell what room your in at the Jaguar Habitat.

[header]So then. When does Jaira spawn? [/header]
This is a question that fills up the Wild Hunter section the most on Basil. [b]There is no proven direct time Jaira spawns. It is proven though, that Jaira does spawn anywhere between 12 - 2 AM or PM PST, [i]and spawns on multiple channels in the same world and on a random place on the map.[/i] It is rumored however, that Jaira spawns only between 12:30 - 1:30 AM or PM PST. It is false that Jaira does not spawn after 1 AM or PM PST. Recent discovery states that Jaira does NOT spawn every day, but maybe every other day or per 36 hours. Jaira spawns in all of the worlds at the same time.[/b]

I, myself, have personally caught my Jaira at exactly 3:15 AM CST (1:15 AM PST) on channel 11, room 1. Anyone that says otherwise is either lying or they don't even know themselves. If you want picture proof of my Jaira catch:

The first one was when I first caught Jaira. I even showed the time on my computer as proof (in CST). If you don't see the blue "Jaira has appeared between the boulders" text, its because of the smegas and junk. And that's why I posted the second link, in case there was question as to why there wasn't the text.

If you think, "you could have just changed the time on your computer to make it look like that" or "There wasn't the blue text in the first screenshot. I don't believe you." or "There was no screenshot of your 'Jaira' running on the ground. SS or it didn't happen", then that's you. If you don't believe me, then don't. Its all your opinion.

[header] What is the [b]"Jaira Police"[/b] [/header]
The [b]Jaira Police[/b], as far as I know, are people that hunt Jaira practically for literal sport. They hunt it only because they already have one, and don't want others to get one. Their reason is because they want to keep Jaira rare so "noobs" don't go running around with a pro Jaguar. I actually witnessed this happening when I was catching my first Jaira. Someone came right in and killed it right in front of my face, just so I couldn't get it for myself. Don't you find people like that to be rather irritating?

Use this as a nice little guide to see what time you should go looking for Jaira. (both in AM/PM)

[b]-It DOES NOT matter what channel your on to catch Jaira.[/b]
[b]-Jaira does NOT spawn every day. Either every other day or every 36 or 48 hours.[/b]
[b]-Jaira spawns at 12-2 AM and PM PST.[/b]
[b]-Jaira has 180% speed and 120% jump.[/b]
[b]-Jaira is darker than the normal black Jaguars, has yellow glowing eyes, and has a faded crescent shaped scar on one eye.[/b]
[b]-Jaira spawns in MULTIPLE rooms on MULTIPLE channels. Not in every channel. But more than one. There's maybe about 5-7 or 8 spawns per world.[/b]
[b]-Jaira spawns during midnight and noon.[/b]
[b]-Jaira spawns with blue text saying "Jaira has appeared from between the boulders", similar to that of a boss spawn.[/b]
[b]-I don't remember how much HP Jaira had, but I do know that Jaira takes 5 damage every hit. (If anyone else knows its HP, please post it!) But I do know that its pretty close to all of the other normal Jaguars in the habitat. You really don't notice a difference either way and its nothing to worry about. No, you are most definitely not going to kill it in one hit with your epic fourth job attack. All of the Jaguars take the exact same set amount of damage to prevent them being KO'ed.[/b]
[b]-If not caught or killed, Jaira disappears after 15 minutes.[/b]
[b]-Jaira spawns more than once per hour. If you start seeing people getting Jairas, you search through all the channels again and still can't find one, don't give up. Jaira will most likely spawn again 15 to 20 minutes later. There is an estimated 2 to 3 waves of Jairas being spawned per hour, each wave containing approximately 5 Jairas.[/b]
[b]-There is always more than one Jaira per world.[/b]
[b]-Jaira spawns during both 12-2 AM AND PM PST[/b]
[b]-Do not CC if you don't see the blue text "Jaira has appeared from between the boulders". Check the map thoroughly. Just because there is text, does not mean it will always come up when he spawns. [/b]
[b]-You don't need to worry if you already have a jaguar. You also don't need to worry about releasing the one you already have. All you have to do is simply catch a new jaguar to replace your old one, and the new jaguar will automatically override your old one. [/b]

[b]-Anyone that tells you Jaira does not spawn after 1 PST is not true.[/b]
[b]-There is never only one Jaira per world.[/b]
[b]-There is not going to be more than one Jaira per map. Its possible, however, that there may be more than one Jaira on the same channel in different rooms.[/b]

[header] Rumors About Jaira [/header]
[b]-It is unsure if Jaira spawns every 36 hours although this is very likely and the most talked about rumor.[/b]
[b]-It is not entirely impossible that Jaira cant be caught out of the 12 - 2 PST range. There have been reports saying so, but no information proven weather or not this is true.[/b]
[b]-Some people like to think of Jaira as a female. Jaira IS kind of a feminine but still cool name. Pretty kitty.[/b]
[b]-It has been rumored that Jaira is most commonly found in room 500(1). This is the room where I myself have caught my Jaira.[/b]
[b]-Jaira is most commonly found on the first platform (where the portal is) and on the middle platform above the ground. There have been no reports of Jaira being caught on the very top right platform, or at least I haven't seen any.[/b]
[b]-In my opinion, the best method to catch Jaira is to CC instead of camping. When you camp, your only in one channel on one map. There is way less of a chance to catch Jaira this way when you could spend a few seconds in every channel on the main common maps. This is how I caught my Jaira.[/b]
