Corsair

Sairs and HoH

Fellow Corsairs, I need some advice.

I started training at HoH this past week and my HP bar is FAR too small. I die in 2 hits, and that's with full empress. Even with a Manon familiar, an HP pot-using pet, and link skills from Cannoneer and Kaiser.

I die in 2 hits.

Am I doing something wrong here? People keep giving me crap about not attacking, but I die in minutes despite using an obscene number of potions to try and stay alive. Is there something I'm just not understanding?

Suppose I'm not doing anything wrong and we're just not capable of attacking at Hall of Honor, do you think this will change when explorers get hyper skills? <3

What's your hp anyways? Do daily drpq/kenta pq to max out your willpower if you still find your hp bar to be small. But if you're dying in 2-3 hits ; is it possible that you aren't killing fast enough?

Thanks for posting everyone. Please continue to share your ideas if you can. This is a problem that all of us squishy classes face, so its good to have these tips all in one location. Like I said in the OP, I already have a pet with auto-pot. I'm going to try elixers and setting it to pot every time I take damage. That idea seemed pretty foolproof xD
Welp. I'm glad there are still Corsairs around, keepin' up the good fight. Oh lalá, old times...

I think many classes do have that problem. In my case (Even though I have Magic Guard), if I were to go to HoH, I'd probably keep my finger always at the elixir button, for a fast reaction. Hornsters won't do for the meso spent on such potions; Ginger Ales will

As above people said; Corsairs have always seemed weak and such since their release, but I can corroborate that they have that hidden potential that makes them so smexy, plus their hypers. A bit of patience, matey!
Definitely. This class has always been about patience. Even when we were #1 in 1v1 DPS a lot of people were turned off by how how unglamorous it is before 4th job advancement. It's funny... since I started playing my corsair again, a handful of people decided to try and make a sair from watching me at LHC. Last night I was actually in a party with 3 other corsairs. And that NEVER happens. Usually there's not another one in sight. Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked. I'm just always happy to bump into another scurvy slinger.

I take 2 hits to die as well; sometimes it's 1. Personally, I don't train at HoH. I lag too much, my potting seems to lag, and really, I just don't pay enough attention to pot after every single hit, haha . I expect it'll be better after Hypers.

That's odd that your sair takes that many hits to die. Mine is fully equipped with Empress, and I come out to be around 13k HP, if I remember right. Considering many sairs I know of my level are just as squishy, it shouldn't take anymore than 3 hits for one to really die there.

Also, TS, you're not really doing anything wrong, in the sense that you're playing it correctly. Just, I would make it so that you 1. react faster and click a potion practically every hit or 2. buy a pet that auto pots.

If neither of those options sit with you, go back to SH, which I've reluctantly had to return to a few times (because it's just flat out annoying to die, whether or not you lose experience).

I was able to HoH just fine, but thats because I've washed a bit. Have you tried bringing a DrK into a party? There's also willpower, kaiser link (10% hp), cannoneer (5% hp) and other things you can work on to improve a bit.

As a bowmaster I had the same problem and I fixed it with power elixirs + auto-pet-pot activation on 99% full hp bar. You can also use Ginger ales.
