My hubby got hacked and all i could do was watch

So if you don't want to read then be my guest and leave but this is a true story and it happened to me and him on 1-24-12 at around 7:30pm.
Also, before i go on with the story, just in case you choose to skip it
Please answer this question.
How did You cope when you got hacked and did you quit?

SO around 7:30 pm today i was playing around and laughing with guild mates and all of a sudden i hear the log in noise i checked to see who logged in and sure enough it was Wretchedeggx. Wretchedeggx is my hubby, when i seen it i immediately flipped out and asked everyone to try to DC or DC lock him, by the time they got to him wretchedeggx logged out. All of sudden Papamaxim(my hubbys other character) appears and i /find him and follow him to ch 6 and i keep telling my guildies to dc him and lock him but each time they tried they DC themselves or the hacker DC them. Then more of his characters pop up. I begged and pleaded with the hacker which i couldn't tell exactly who it was because there were a lot of people around me. 1 by 1, I watched him get hacked and couldn't do anything about it.

I bought all of the stuff he had.
-18% str half earrings
-27 atk bwg with the IGN papamaxim tagged on it.
-12% warrior shoes
-9%str dex scrolled pants
-3% str cape
- evo ring 2 lvl 17
-30k nx
a bunch of random equips with 3-6% str or dex

Note: he wasn't high enough leveled to wear anything except the 27 atk bwg and he didn't flaunt it or brag.

and were married irl so i know he didn't scam me f3 he pays the rent and is now going to quit most likely but i'm trying to convince him to keep playing but i'm not giving him anything anymore. My hubby helped fund my maple addiction even though we spent 250 dollars irl i know people spent way more and got hacked but 250 is a lot to me and my hubby.

BTW he won the 20k nx event that a hacker was holding and that might be a reason he was targeted, However i know a lot of people who won and they didn't get hacked.
Facts:
-He watches dirty videos through yahoo.
-that fake java thing kept popping up but he never clicked yes.
-he downloaded torrent frostwire
-he has a virus protection software on his laptop
-he goes on manga websites
-Did not have the same passwords but some same usernames.

I think that specifically hacking accounts is so Shameful. May god have mercy on you.

Do not worry because if someone bothered to go through the hassle to inject a keylogger into your computer through a "dirty" website, they would target every other information but a childish game such as MapleStory.
that fake java thing kept popping up but he never clicked yes.
If something continuously pops up, it is certain that the computer was already infected. It is simply prompting you to act as a decoy assuming you do not have the virus. If this pop up was geared towards MapleStory, then this was probably not a personal attack but a random hit.
he downloaded torrent frostwire
I do not see any associations with FrostWire and MapleStory unless you downloaded something assuming it was to "help" with the game. (Harmless patches, hacks, bots, scripts, etc.)
he has a virus protection software on his laptop
Simple rogue viruses can bypass an antivirus software.
he goes on manga websites
If it was MangaFox, there are certain viruses within their ads. My antivirus managed to catch it.
Did not have the same passwords but some same usernames.
Through dictionary attack or brute force attack, you can break through an endless amount of passwords.

Bounce back...thats all i can say. Winners never quit and quitters never win.
I got hacked and i bounced back. Though....i still wish i had my stuff.
Dont worry you managed to save some things. Hope your guildies are cool enough to give him some stuff to get him back on his feet again

SOOOOOO...how'd you know it wasn't him who logged on..? I mean..if a buddy logs on I don't automatically freak and tell my guild to DC him/her..story's a little confusing..
You're married in real life? I would think that somebody who got married would at least be mature enough to type with proper sentence structure and grammar.

On topic though, it's possible he was keylogged.
Have some respect. Instead of holding onto your pathetic, self-antiquated sense of maturity, how about you consider the fact that she is still older than you and does not need to warrant her own maturity through reliance of properly typed grammar?
OT: I'm sorry for your loss. However, if I may humbly offer my honest opinion and advice, don't be too upset over something like this. You two are happily married (hopefully) and have much more to look to together than the loss of such an insignificant virtual commodity. If you really want to re-gain what you lost, it won't take long. Just patience and a couple of months and you may be able to merch back what you lost. And the best part of it all is that you have each other all throughout this horrible ordeal!
That was very sweet of you to buy all of his stuff back for him. I've been hacked once, it sucks, I quit for a year and came back. But bad things happen. Hope you tough it out and get him playing with you again.
You read it wrong, she meant that she BOUGHT all that stuff for him THEN he got it all hacked.

And yeah, watching yourself get hacked is one of the weirdest things ever T_______T
I've watched myself get hacked on way too many characters than a person should.
But I highly doubt all the pr0n websites I visitw ill want my maple items.

It happened to one of my friends and he mostly lost all of his mesos...
All I could do is watch and hoping the hacker wouldn't target me for being a witness.

When I got hacked I lol'd my ass off that someone would put that much effort into hacking me. I wouldve just given him ID, pass and PIC if he really wanted it

Was your husband really into playing maple? If not then let him be he probably has things he'd much rather do

Your married in real life but he still watches dirty videos.... I think your man needs some more action.

OT: I've watched myself get hacked on a friends account.

... Oh no! I had the weirdest feeling that this thread would be from you.
Send my regards to him for me.

And it sucks for everything that was lost. That shows how bad the security system is for Nexon.
L> better enforcement
