Hero Mastery Books

How expensive are they? I have a hero going, I'm putting.. average? I guess, funding into it. Probably won't be a main so I don't want to spend a lot of money on mastery books. Thus, which special book should I get from inkwell? It seems to me that ACA is the most expensive

If you take advantage of the Maple Aniversary event, it can be relatively inexpensive, actually.

Inkwell sells Mystery Mastery Books that are class-specific (and unlike normal MMBs, these aren't glitched and actually WORK) for 12 Maple Coins a piece. Thanks to all of the other events, gaining coins is actually pretty easy (the game board rewards are mostly coins and you can trade 100 leaves for 1 coin with Cassandra). This way, you can rake in the coins and buy as many books for your Hero as you require. AND, if you get duplicates you don't need, you can just sell 'em for profit and use that cash to buy the books you DO need.

Not a bad deal, really...
Only expensive ones are AFA (shared between many classes but is only around 10-20m) and ACA 10 skill book (obviously due to the sok but you can get it for free with luck and dedication.
What do you mean? It drops?

edit: Oh, it drops from Zakum. That's not too bad.

AFA (advance final attack) is the most expensive. In general, Hero books are cheap but can be very hard to find.
