Kmst 1.2.461 Mesos to Maplepoints Lol

so apparantly in the latest KMST build, an NPC has been added in the FM which you can trade mesos for maplepoint. However it seem like the currency exchange rate is so terrible at the moment, it feels like Nexon Korea is trolling with you and saying look how generous we are, you can have nx for mesos.

This is most likely a placeholder but most likely it would be way above the average KMS black market nx to mesos exchange ratio.

100 Million Mesos = 1 Maplepoint
1 Billion Mesos = 10 Maplepoints
10 Billion Mesos = 100 Maplepoints
100 Billion Mesos = 1,000 Maplepoints
for the kaiser swords, people thought those were placeholders... "a 400atk sword? no way nexon would release that, its prob. a placeholder" LOL so idk. maybeeee
Who said it was a placeholder..?

@DkDummy: But the 400atk sword was unpottable, unscrollable, etc... and it was extrememly hard to obtain. 100m for 1maple point is plain ridiculous and no one in their right mind would even think about using that conversion rate. And what else is not mentioned is that the npc isn't even in the game it's only in the .wz files (someone clean up this link if you don't mind please and thank you) http://orangemushroom.wordpress.com/2012/12/22/kmst-ver-1-2-461-xenon-skill-changes/#more-5287 scroll down to near the bottom.
Just curious because I don't know much about this stuff, would it be possible for nexon to do the same thing for mesos to bypass the 2.1b max mesos limit?
It should be entirely possible. But I don't have a quote, but I'm pretty sure I remember Hime posting a few months ago saying that there were no plans to increase the Meso cap, because it would disrupt the balance of the economy or something like that
Since the HP data isn't stored on your end, that means it's on the server's side, and what Nexon can do with that is basically have different pools of HP to bypass the 2.1b limit. First part you said is correct.

They're trying to create gold sinks. Usually MMO's have a lot of them. It's sort of a way to 'help' the economy of the game, so that it doesn't get too out of hand. At least that's what I understand. The more money people need for in-game uses, the less money people will have, and use on market items. GENERALLY it helps out, but not always.

Maplestory doesn't really have many gold sinks other than the actual market in the first place. Upgrading equipment, is a popular sink that Maplestory doesn't have that other MMO's almost always have. The only true sink we seem to have... is potions, and other small things that don't really dent money supplies. It'd be a somewhat good idea, since our market has gone a bit haywire.

This would be a great meso sink. I would think a fair price would be 100 mil to 1k points. Maybe even 200 mil.

I believe that they'll fix this before they release it to real servers.

There's no way they'd keep something as ridiculous as 100 billion mesos for 1k maple points. They know just as well as we do, that 100 bil is not equivalent to the price of one miracle cube in Cash Shop. No matter how 'broken' anyone thinks this system could be, I can almost say with no doubts, they will change this.

@WhitePegasus: The drop rate was raised by roughly 5-10x or something. But I think that only applies to how often equipment and other stuff drops. Not the amount of mesos .
I believe KMS has since updated the servers to 64-bit. This means you can store MUCH more mesos than you could on the original Maplestory server which was 32-bit. Don't ask me to elaborate on this - I'm not even sure if I'm explaining this correctly.

But it does means you can store 2^64 mesos (which is about 1.8 x 10^19 or 18 quintillion.)
Can't make NX completely obsolete by just some hardcore merching.
Maybe half that, and introduce Maplepoint exclusive items to make it worth it.

Like discounts if you use Maplepoints or something.
