Do you name your Pokemon?
I grew up on the first season of the show before I started playing the games with Crystal, so it seemed weird to have them nick-named anything.
I kinda wanna name my team when I get X/Y, but am not yet sure what kind of names I'm going to go with.
Do you name your Pokemon?
What kind of names do you give them?

I did in Gen 4 and 5 but I am trying not to do so in Gen 6.
Because I don't remember the original name.
When I talk to my friends I have no idea who they are saying and if I want to say some Pokemon name I can't because I don't know the original name!
I don't, but the other day I battled someone who named his Hawlucha Nacho Libre and I renamed mine the same just after the battle finished. That name was perfect.
I don't nickname them because to me it's not really giving me a closer bond if I give them a name. I get close to them if I treat them right. You know what I mean?
This is the first game where I actually named my pokemon
Anyone still play B/W or B/W 2?
I name most Pokes that aren't shiny. I never ever nickname my shinies and it's been a tradition since gen 3.
Of course I name 'em! Everything needs a name, after all. =p
I've always--since my days with Red & Blue--followed a tradition of naming them after characters/things from Nintendo's various franchises.
I name all of mine
My team for the newer Black version had the names Phantom, Pocchari, Oni, Ciel, Favolosa and Chula.
For the "kind" of names, I usually tend to choose words I like from other languages, like Japanese, French, Italian and Spanish.
I used to not name them, because like you, I grew up on season one before playing Pokemon Silver (Hey Richie nicknamed his pokemon! Zippo and Sparky anyone? ).
But then I started a Nuzlocke and actually find it fun to nickname because, why not?
So yeah, I tend to nickname now unless the Pokemon is like a legendary or something. I ain't about to start calling Mewtwo anything other than Mewtwo.
