Confusion about Light/Dark Skillbuild
All of the guides I see talk about maxing my light/dark skills at the same time and I was wondering if the sole purpose of that is so that you can be in the really short equilibrium mode and spam Death Scythe during it while not having one mode that's significantly weaker than the other. Also, I see most people not even doing that and just focusing on one of the sides.. Are they at a disadvantage by doing that? Or is it better to just be strong in one and not even bother with switching?
Speaking specifically about 3rd job by the way.

For 3rd job, you would want to stick with light because your dark skills in 3rd are pretty pathetic compared to spectral light.
I prefer the light skills but that dark AoE is so tempting xD .. Just trained like 74-76 with it at captain/kru lol. I guess I'll make a decision sooner or later, though later may be by the time I can max both with saved points anyway haha.

Is it worth maxing dusk guard before going into my attacking skills?
Light skills are generally have a faster casting time and are generally better for training than Dark skills.
OT: No they aren't at a disadvantage because you can choose when you want to change between Light/Dark now so its fine if you make one side's skills before the other.
I guess my question in the end is: Is it more worth it to equalibrium or just use my light attacks all the time.

upon reaching equilibrium mode, you automatically alternate to the other state after it finishes, so it's useful to max both light and dark.
3rd job? you just don't max the healer. lv4 skill is already enough, and luminous can heal 1% every attack. that healer skill is not so important or significant for luminous.
