saving pictures and what not

i am having some nooby troubles uploading pictures onto facebook. I scanned a few images and saved them onto a flashdrive. They are saved as a pdf. The images that i want to upload need to be cropped because the size of these images were only 4x6 inches, so there is a lot of white space around it.

so far all i got is the image i want on a microsoft word document

anyone wanna help me out?
