If we discovered Hell and Heaven today.
If for some strange reason Hell and Heaven happened to exist because some astronaut went so far into space that he stumbled across two portals, one linking to Hell and the other one to Heaven. Would you think that there are countries stupid enough to make an attempt to conquer both worlds?
I can't even imagine a battle between the living and the angels, demons and the Gods. Disasters will strike and temples in Heaven will fall. Demons will bring a new era into the world and possess humanity - nobody can be trusted anymore, while the remaining soldiers are making an attempt to strike Satan through the dark lands of Hell.

There are multiple myths and rumors regarding a portal to Hell/The Underworld being located somewhere on Earth.

Second paragrah, you said demons fighting God(s) but I thought this was about mortals vs. the afterlife
I say we take over heaven, defeat God, and make heaven a worse place to stay in than hell!
Don't see why you'd want to conquer Hell, no one would want to live there.
