Most Original Class?
Hello everyone!
I was just thinking about which class was the most original, and I wanted to ask you guys what you thought!
So in your opinion, which class is the most original class in Maplestory, and why?

I think Shadowers, I might be crazy but hear me out.
1) They blow up Mesos
2) The dash and slash THROUGH things (Assaulter and that 4th job move)
3) They summon ninjas.
Battle Mages. <3 <3 <3
Mages that aren't elemental, and that battle. <3 <3 <3
Arans, Mechanics, Demon Slayers.
Y'all get so hung up on appearances The monkey is a bunch of pixels that doesn't do anything, except lending its name to some skills and performing some faintly amusing animations. Sure ain't why I took to the class.
I'd say Arans are the most original, with Cannoneers (str and range) and Buccs tied for 2nd
but for the least original class I'd have to say Demonslayers and Mechs (Copying various classes at once, even wildhunters, sadly)
Mech is more original than Cannoneer imo. Only things original about CS are cannon weapon & a monkey, everything else is borrowed from other pirates.
Mech was the first to shoot laser & the only one with a robotic futuristic theme, Jett might get one too?
@Kindless BaMs based off of STR Mages? I don't follow.
From what little I've gleaned off our own unusual-builds guide here, it seems STR mages would've also been up-close sort of fighters, and preferentially added SP into buffs and such.
@Kindless BaMs based off of STR Mages? I don't follow.
Honestly, Arans. New gameplay, combo, and rarely or never done in other games.
I dunno about Evan gameplay being original. Visually, sure, but the fact that the dragon ostensibly does the attacking doesn't really change much about how you play. It's still run off your own MP. You have total control over when and how the dragon attacks. The dragon doesn't get targeted or injured separately from you. AFAIK it's not possible to be separated from the dragon, or having a row with it, or see it fall victim to a status effect that doesn't affect your own body. Advancement system's pretty original, but that's not where my own interest lies, so
I personally had never heard of any class in an RPG being permanently and centrally built around the concept of skill-stealing, but I'm aware that my experience with RPGs is limited.
bowmasters?
There are no original classes.
Battle Mage- because I'm biased like most everyone else.
dragon warrior.
Ice/Lightning Mage- definitely used before.
Fire/Poison Mage- been there, done that.
Bishop- sooo not original
Evan- Mage with dragon? Eh.
Battle Mage- I've heard of one before, but not bad.
Shadower- Fast moving person with a dagger? It's been done.
Night Lord- Only like every game invented has stars in it.
Phantom- A card thrower who steals skills? Pretty original.
Warriors- Definitely not original. Dragon warriors, dark knight, white knight, whatever.
Demon Slayer- Seems pretty legit.
Bowmaster- Not original. Love the class thought (not biased).
Marksmen- Not original
Wild Hunter- First that I've ever heard of.
Mercedes- Pretty original.
Mechanics- Machines shooting stuff? Hm, I wonder.
Forget the rest...I'm tired.
I'd say Arans are the most original, with Cannoneers (str and range) and Buccs tied for 2nd
but for the least original class I'd have to say Demonslayers and Mechs (Copying various classes at once, even wildhunters, sadly)

That gave me a good laugh.
Evans are also unique. Dragon with them, 10 job advancements
Aran and Battle Mage. If Aran was a girl, they should kiss and have a kid.
every class before mech..including mech..id say mech was the last original class
not sayin i dont like the classes that came after..just sayin there all kinda based off of adventurers
also..demon slayers ar eonly original cuz they can fly and have Demon force..but
u basicly hit ~CTRL~ to attk
cannoneers = mech
merc = Bowmasters and Wildhunters and dual bladers
DS = Aran and battle mage
PHANTOM....I MEAN CMON, its so un-original that nexon decided to make it steal skills form OTHER classes
Cygnus knights = all adventurers but can only hit 120
but to the MOST originality..id give it to
BATTLE MAGES
there the only mage class to have tht continuous attk thing going on..and i think there also the 1st class to have summons (reaper)
Arans.
F/P mage.
Arans, Evans and Demon Slayers.
Aran introduced the combo system, completely unique to them. I tried to use an Aran and couldn't stand it because it feels so different from Maplestory.
Evans have a dragon sure, but what's really original about them is that they need to do quests for SP, and have 10 job advancements. You can't get Booster until level 60...and it lasts 5 minutes! Very different.
Demon Slayers can fly, glide, and double jump without investing SP into any skills in order to do so. Even WHs need to max a skill called Jag Jump in order to double jump. DS uses Force instead of MP. Plus, they have that insta-kill probability, which is obnoxiously overpowered and allows them to train on monsters 30 levels over them without really sacrificing too much training efficiency.
Evans! Duh
Who else has a dragon at their control?
priest.....
I think arans are pretty original
The most original?
-Mage
-Warrior
-Thief
-Bowman
It's definately Evan or mechanic. Should be obvious.
Beginners?
Basically classes that have not adapted too much from other classes. Originality in classes is vague nowadays, so I would still have to go with the original explorer classes, Warrior, Mage, Bowman Thief and later, Pirate. Everything else has been built upon these foundation classes. Though logic is not taken seriously, I would have to go with Arans (combo system), Wild Hunters (can attack while on a mount), Dual Bladers (first fast paced mobbing while also having area wide attacks, having 2 weapons to utilize), Demon Slayers (able to use a new mana system for attacks and skills requiring it can easily replenish it). Mechanics, Evans and Cannoneers also have some original traits but all of these jobs arent completely original as explorers.
Aran, F/P mage
Night Lord in my opinion. What other game gives you the option to throw ninja stars. Everyone's thought about throwing ninja stars at one time or another
Before Big Bang:
Corsairs and Buccaneers
Attacking while being on ST or attacking on a mount was pretty dam original back then. The whole "you cannot use this skill without ST" or breaking your boat and waiting 90-30 seconds to use it again was cool.
After Big Bang:
....All classes stopped being original.
Arans for combo system.
Evans for forcing the dragon into doing every single thing.
Beginners for killing monsters with snail shells
Shadowers for the original FJ.
Shadowers were not the original FJ holders. We got it in Big Bang, but Hermits had it before that.
Fire/Poison.
Arans for combo system.
Evans for forcing the dragon into doing every single thing.
Beginners for killing monsters with snail shells
Shadowers for the original FJ.
Aran COMBOS! Evan DRAGONS!
Actually pretty surprised by the amount of different answers.
shadower
Mechanics.
Who knows? it could be Jett! but id say aran. or maybe even evan? but definitly aran xD!
Arans were the first to have completely new gameplay (combos).
cannonneers.
Arans
Slayer probably.
-Wings
-DF
-Hair/Eyes?
-Markings
