Possible Solution to MS Black Screen
Okay so, some of us have recently been receiving a black screen on maple.
From my experience it goes down like this.
Log on to MS through site
Press 'Start Game'
Hack Shield Loads
Maple Begins
Server/World selection
Character Selection
Enter PIN
BAM! Black Screen!
After entering your PIN you receive a black screen and possibly MS shuts down by itself and possibly restarts your computer. Or you have to end MS via task manager.
Okay.
Possible Solution:
Instead of selecting the server you usually play on. Select one that is not so populated. I choose one of the new ones.
Create a new character in this new server.
Enter PIN.
Unfortunately I received yet another black screen however after a while the map loaded.
~~(I opened task manager as the BS appeared and clicked on 'Process' then clicked MapleStory.exe and clicked 'End Process'. Do Not click [b][/b] when another window appears, instead click [b][/b]. After doing so, my map loaded. IDK if my accidental experiment with Task Manager did the job or just the wait on a new server/character did the job. Either way I was able to play again).~~
Now... Yes there's more.
After you are able to play on your new character. Change the Picture Quality to HIGHEST and Resolution to 1024x768.
Then log off this new character and log into the character and server you usually play in.
The map should now load, etc.
For me, this did the job.

Change picture and resolution to the highest possible. Nexon made some maps like that by accident
