How are classes that already have shields going to use new secondary weapons? do we lose our shields?

@LazyLotad: Well it was gonna take up the shield slot, that's why I thought it might of.
Wassup ally member lol i sold u stamps and yeah i think shields just gain the ability to get weapon pots

OT: but have you guys seen unique potted items between 80 and 100? the ones i've seen have had 20% bossing not 30% at unique, and the secondary weapons for other classes are level 100, from what I have seen, level 80 and 90 weapons do not get the same potential as level 100+ ones, but i may be wrong.

@jolteon7 From what I understand it's still tier based. That's the only reason why I bought a 3rd unwelcomed for 10m instead of a last unwelcome for 100m.
does this apply to beginners as well? like, lets say i was using a psb, could i than equip a shield or am i misunderstanding something?

this is pretty much what i needed to know. i wasn't going to get a shield if it could get the same stats. i was gonna get a 3rd unwelcome guest (lv 86 or whatever), but if you can get boss damage and pdr, would it be better to get a level 100 or level 120?
