For those of you who actually read for fun (Gasp! Yes for fun!), how do you prefer to read a book? The hard physical copy or an eBook? Me? I like the actual book. I like feeling the book and turning the pages etc. The screen on my phone or kindle hurts my eyes and it gets annoying when sometimes the screen acts derpy and you lose your spot.

there is eye strain when you look at any electronic device, if you know it or not. There are many studies out there showing it's negative effects.

If I can't get a physical copy of the book cause I'm too lazy to go to the library and I don't wanna buy it, I get it for free online and read it on my phone.
But I haven't done that since I read Harry Potter last fall.

I haven't felt like reading for enjoyment much at all in the past year...

Whenever I want to read for fun, I always buy the physical copy because it's fascinating for me. I get too distracted whenever I read books online for some reason. But for college I buy the books I need digitally cause it's more cheaper.

ebooks are probably cheaper but I don't own a kindle or portable book reading device of any kind and even then reading a screen is wholly unenjoyable

If it's a book that I've been hyped on and waited ages for it to be released then I'd prefer the actual hardcover/paperback. Other than that, ebook it is.

Well if we're gonna get specific.
Less than or equal to reading a book eye strain level.
Anything the eyes focus on causes eye strain.
Most causes of excessive electronic eye strain is from an improperly adjusted device.
Set properly, it's equal to a text book.

definitely a physical book. i don't know, there's this satisfaction you get from flipping through the pages, and the cover is usually very nice, too!
though e-books are more convenient, and you can easily look up words you don't know, read in low light conditions and some devices don't give eye strain (kindle)
they're also significantly cheaper as well compared to physical copies.

I prefer a physical copy of the book, not much for staring at my computer screen to read a book or listening to an audio book.
