Why not max Blood Drain?

Edit:
Ah, I see now why this can't work, thanks guys~

Once maxed, it gives you back 10% of the damage you do.
That means you will pretty much get healed completely.

Anyways, the build I'm planning for my Battle Mage is:

Second Job
Maxed 4B
Maxed Staff Mastery
Maxed Dark Chain
Maxed Yellow Aura
Maxed Blue Aura
10 Booster
Maxed Drain

Third Job
Maxed 5B
Maxed Battle Mastery
Maxed Body Boost
Maxed Dark Shock
Maxed Advanced Dark Chain
Maxed Conversion
Maxed Tele Mastery
Maxed Advanced Blue Aura
Lvl 6 Reaper

Blue Aura will be at level 13 during second job, and it will be maxed really late during third job.

I'm taking points off of Reaper, and putting it onto Blue Aura to max it.

I've heard Reaper isn't a great skill, specially since the reaper just sits there half the time.

I would rather get more survivability than get a pet that hits for around 4k damage sometimes, wouldn't you?

Another way to go at it is to not max Reaper at all, and use the left-over points you would've used on it, on Booster instead, so it lasts longer.

Ah, I see, thanks guys.
Didn't know you couldn't use skill points from other jobs.

Good thing I actually waited till putting any into Blood Drain, I would've messed up, lol.

I have level 5 Blood Drain, and I am already hitting the 10% limit with 5x Blow. I actually believe I should've kept it at 3, but I guess the only good thing is that 5 BD and 18 Booster have similar timers...

1. Maxed Blood Drain converts 5% of you damage, but it can only heal up to 10% of your max HP. Even with a level 3 or 5 Blood Drain, you can hit the drain cap easily. Get 18 Booster and 5 Blood Drain on the 2nd job.

2. You CAN'T put 3rd job points into 2nd job, so you can't take points from Reaper and put them on Blue Aura.

earlier on, maxing drain may seem like a better choice than having low drain, due to the mentality that 1-2%=very low. but later on, when you start hitting 15k+ with quint blow in third job, you will be hitting the 10% drain cap more often than you buy groceries.

also, your plan is flawed, because third job sp cannot be used on second job skills. that way, resistance can advance with sp remaining, but it will only be usable in whatever job pool it was from. if you use an sp reset at level 70 (assuming you set all your sp already), you get 65 sp in the first job tab and 123 sp in the second job tab. no exceptions.
