1 million dollar earrings

Hi!

Was pretty shocked when I saw this: http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/4019/namnlsopo.png

It's a pair of earring for 1 million dollars, isn't that pretty "stupid" to spend a 1 mill on just earrings? I mean, you can get a nice house here for that money!
No, it was a house. If you walk like 5 minutes east of centralstation you reach the not really crowded part of the city, then about 10 minutes to the left of there there are some houses.
Checked a map and I think I could get to hötorget if I walked 5 mins east and then 1 mins north. What part of the city are you talking about?
Yeah I guess. We lived about 15 minutes walk from Centralstation in Stockholm and houses were pretty expensive there. Still, houses are really expensive in Sweden anyway.
A house 15 mins away from centralstationen? Wouldn't that be an apartment?
1mil USD won't get you a very good house in Sweden. We had to pay like 8.5mil SEK for our 350 square meter house in Stockholm.
Yes, you can get a nice house in Sweden for 1 mill dollars, however, there is also areas that are more "exclusive" even here in sweden. Also, a house in Stockholm costs alot compared to other cities.

Btw, this is here house in the hamptons: http://img816.imageshack.us/img816/9128/namnlssr.png pretty nice IMO.

EDIT: this is an example of what you can get with ~1 mill: http://www.hemnet.se/beskrivning/868375?r=3

waste of money
people from my class pay for some uggs aka snowboots+some gloves like 450bucks....
i rather get a ps3 for that or some nice pc games etc
But people spend money on stupid things when they are stupid enough to don't know how to handle lots of money
Same. Beverly Hills anyone?

Anyways, some people don't buy jewelry only for the looks. It can also be bought as like a mini-investment. Those earrings will probably be worth 10 times that price in 10 years.
She said that it was a birthday present from her husband so idk if it's just an investment.
