My old laptop kicked the bucket so now I'll need a new PC, this time I plan to build a desktop. Idk y i bother making a thread here maybe nostalgia cause I made a thread like this about my now dead laptop. Also to check if @burning is still here.

$1400 budget but can go as high as $1500.
Gaming PC, although I realized with school n' all I've been playing less AAA games and more casual or indie ones. Although that doesn't mean I'll never play a PC AAA game ever again. I also use photoshop/sai and often multitask with it and google chrome playing streams or videos.

I'm completely outdated with computers ever since that cyptocurrency GPU thing, made me ignore those topics for as long as I can. Also I hear people talk s*** about newegg nowadays which is the opposite of what I heard about it years ago. I'm hoping I can at least have options on where to start and what sites to research/buy.

edit: where the fuck y'all at

edit2: why are monitors so hard

+1 I just got a new pc 2weeks ago from Digital Storm ordered a Vanquish 7 Level 3 at the time of build everything with 27inch curved monitor and keyboard mouse combo cost $1896. so far the pc is the fastest gaming pc I've owned till this day I don't regret buying a prebuilt pc it was totally worth every penny.

+1 You could get an:

AM4 x470 Mainboard
Ryzen 7 2700x (or wait till next year 2019 for Zen2 7nm CPU's)
Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000Mhz RAM
Geforce GTX 1060 (1080TI if you can find it cheap)
Corsair 650w PSU
and a flashy looking gaming case with LED lights all over it

for about $850
it would be better and cheaper to buy individual parts from amazon depending on where you live

@beefly
I drift in here once in awhile these days.

What country/state do you live in?
What is the upper limit of your budget?
Do you already have a monitor, keyboard, and/or mouse? If you have a monitor, what is its screen resolution?
Do you need an operating system such as Windows 8 or Windows 10?
How much hard drive/SSD space do you want?
Are you interesting in overclocking the processor, the video card, or both?
Do you have any preferences or restrictions for a computer case(features, looks, fancy, simple, etc.)?

Mention any other special requests you may have. Be as detailed as you can with all your responses.

@burning: I was about to say RIP. Also I thought about waiting till Black Friday, but my laptop couldn't and died after the 4th revival. I can only reassure myself that it's best to buy now because I would be too slow to snatch any legendary deals during that day.

I already have my build with lots of help but I am still not 100% sure on the monitor, luckily I got more monies so I bumped up my budget.

What country/state do you live in?
Virginia (US)

What is the upper limit of your budget?
At first it was $1600, but then I trimmed down from buying items on sale. Currently it seems to be $1500 max.

Do you already have a monitor, keyboard, and/or mouse? If you have a monitor, what is its screen resolution?
Only have a mouse.

Do you need an operating system such as Windows 8 or Windows 10?
Need Windows 10 USB drive.

How much hard drive/SSD space do you want?
1tb Hdd and 500gb ssd, one of my friends recommended me to get another hdd for backup (still in my mind since that was the first piece that broke on my laptop) What do you think?

Are you interesting in overclocking the processor, the video card, or both?
It is in my mind but I don't think I'll overclock it on the first year.

Do you have any preferences or restrictions for a computer case(features, looks, fancy, simple, etc.)?
Mid tower ATX case, prefer silent case but wouldn't want to pay over $90 unless it's a really good case/deal which would then be a max of $110. If I had to choose a color of what fancy lights it has then I would like red.

I've got a mouthful about monitors. I lack space, so I can't get a monitor thats over 25 inches. I've heard 1080p and 1440p are similar for a monitor that size. I've also been really frustrated with my frames on my laptop on newer games so I think I'd prefer 144hz on a 1080p over a 60hz on a 1440p. I've heard comments that a 1070ti wouldn't be able to perform well at highest graphic settings on a 1440p 144hz monitor. Then again, it's good to plan longterm and if thats the case it would be wiser to pick the 1440p 144hz and as the years go buy I can probably buy better gpu for a cheaper price. I've seen monitors that are 24in but have 1440p and are just slightly most expensive than the 1080p I have in mind. I'm also not 100% sure if gsync is necessary there's been conflicting comments on nvidia's capitalist trap card, but since framerates bug me I'd assume gsync would be a nice thing to have. The monitor in the link is a TN, at first I was obsessing over IPS monitors but I realized I can't find a ~24 inch 1080p 144hz IPS monitor with less than 4ms response time and gsync for a fair price of no more than $400. So I just went with TN since I'm under the assumption that most people have TN. IPS was really more for my art hobby, meaning color is still important to me but not typical IPS cost important. Also no curved screens.

Do I need any additional fans? I heard my CPU is alright with its own even if I overclock it. This is more about the case fans.

Link is my build as well as what I already purchased.

Thanks for recommending me that y510p laptop, it was great while it lasted (or maybe i got confused and asked for a mouse instead which in that case that razer did not last more than 6 months, but steelseries is great.)
