Is it too late to become an professional artist

So yeah after finding out I am too dumb for intellectual labor, and too weak for manual labor, I have deducted that art is my only option to prevent me from homelessness. Anyways, I am already 17, and before this year I didn't practice a single minute, but since last week I have been practicing 8-16 hours per day, do you think I could catch up to other peeps if I keep practicing this much..oh yeah I'm not going to art school too much money so like yeah that just widens the gap between me and others more.

fail...wrong section </3

I'd say if you live for art, you'll find an unusual characteristic that might find other people interesting.

But don't go to a job you hate. Why not go into video games? (yes I'm assuming you like games) Or find what really makes you happy. There will always be a job that makes someone happy, the problem is finding it.

Just get the materials and start at it. Conte crayon, compressed charcoal, kneaded erasers, and vine charcoal easily impress most people and would be a nice starting point.
If you have the talent, don't worry about catching up to people. But don't completely base your need to draw off of a need for cash because you'll lose your intrinsic motivation and the quality of your art will go down.

... if you're not oging to art school it's going to be.. even harder. what do you think you're going to do, just start trying to sell your art to anyone who walks by? you need to either have connections, or just be absolutely amazing at art.

I never said I was planning on going to art school?
