Hero

Ua or Regular Hero?

So I've decided that I wanted to make a Hero. Currently I am leveling my Wind Archer and its level 40. Would it be better to make a regular or UA hero? I don't mind leveling the Wind Archer, but I thought that maybe the loss of HP for a UA Hero might be crucial to it or something.

above quest gives the UA sprite which at max (180s yeah, you read that right flipping 180s) is the same as a max level CK's summon or 170% damage for 200 seconds.
quest for 3sp only applicable to 2nd or 3rd job skills so as a hero it would just get dumped into a useless skill such as brandish or shout but if your up and coming its a godsend since your essentially a level higher skill wise.
Empress might wear anything within a 10 level range restriction is removed
Skill based of a third job CK skill such as SD other than thieves who get vampire which gives sins some 2nd job mobbing and drainage also good for shads.

Like someone said earlier, the only UAs worth making if you want to get the most out of your skills are thieves, F/P mages, and maybe buccs. Thieves will love vampire for its drain effect. F/P mages will use gear forever and whenever you see them in the DPM charts, gear is already figured into it so you're actually hurting yourself not having it. Buccs need sharks now more than ever and even after the revamp its still a good solid mobber though not as useful as before. Now, you use sharks as your main mobber until you get DS to 15 which is at least 5 levels of leveling DS though you need to pass DS 20 to do so. So you'd be using it from 50-125 at the very minimum even then you won't hit that last 6th mob until you max it.[/quote]

You should be more concerned about the loss of inventory slots instead of a measly amount of HP. Also, there is now an UA exclusive quest that lets you gain lost HP.

Yeah, but all those freebies become useless 120+, and either one can be stronger, depends on the funding..

So pretty much the medal and the empress clothes become useless after a high level, as does the +10 level equipping thing?

I don't know much about the difference between UA Heros and the regulars. I'm a regular, only thing I do know is the UAs get some of the dawn warrior skills. But from I've noticed the UAs had a significant difference in hp than the regulars, they have less hp.

Honestly if you planned to make a hero and main it this is probably what I would do. I would continue to level the Cygnus knight to 120 if you don't have the empress's blessing already. And at the same time or after your Cygnus is done make your future hero from scratch. I would think it would give you more control over you're stats of you start from the beginning, but that's just me.
Then again I've never made a UA so I don't know whether what I'm saying is relevant or not.

Thanks, but I thought that maybe some of the skills they get are useful + the 24 att bonus from a lv 120 cygnus, the medal and the empress clothes and the ability to use items 10+ level above you.

Leveling a CK to 120 just for a Hero UA is stupid, you barely use the soul driver anyway hence its really useless nowadays, only useful at jesters until level 60 or so.
The only skill you get that is good at all is the sprite which isnt even that good.

The only Ua's that are worth making are Shads and F/P's since they use their skill even after level 120, but in the time you can get a ck to 120, you can also get a normal char to 120 so unless you already have a 120 ck don't bother making a UA unless youre making a Shad or an F/P.
