Learning chinese methods?
I want to start learning chinese (mandarin) and I don't really know what methods I should use to learn it. I know a few friends that can speak mandarin, and I have a textbook and old workbook that can help me learn it. Does anyone know any online resources I can use to help learn chinese?

Just make sure it is traditional text.
if you want to learn fast, speak it everyday with other people
i hope you don't plan on learning how to write
Are you interested in learning to speak Manderin or read and write as well? If you are only interested in learning how to speak it, ask your friends for help because by practicing everyday, it makes a big difference. Books can help sometimes, but it would be better if you are actually speaking Manderin with someone. As for wanting to read and write as well, I don't suggest doing that unless you already know a little bit of reading and writing. From someone who can read and write Chinese, Chinese characters are one of the hardest ever. I am not trying to discourage you or anything, just giving you a little bit of warning because my 7 years of Chinese classes were not fun at all.
OT: Google it?

Yes, but the culture stays the same even after Britain leaves...
@Hero4Hire LOOOOL xD But seriously... that didn't help at all.
I read somewhere that if you tilt your head 90 degrees to the right, the chinese words are English in a graffiti-like font.
*stalks thread*
