Bowman

Bowmen are a ranged class.

Defense and Health

Typically, Bowmen do not have a lot of defense and health compared to the Warrior class but they expertise in damage mitigation, and so their weakness is less obvious. However, with more bosses dealing damage based on a % of your total health, defense and health isn't as useful as it once was.

Bow Master

Average HP and ordinary damage reduction.
  • +40% HP from Hookshot
  • 20% passive damage reduction from Illusion Step
  • -40% weapon and magic defense when using Reckless Hunt: Bow
  • Has a drain skill (Quiver Cartridge's Blood Arrows)

Marksman

Average HP and high damage reduction.
  • +40% HP from Hookshot
  • 80% damage reduction (20% from Illusion Step and 60% Aggressive Resistance)
  • No drain skill

Wild Hunter

High HP and average damage reduction.
  • +80% HP (20% from Jaguar Mastery, +50% from Feline Berserk and +10% from Hyper Skill)
  • 45% damage reduction (15% from Call of the Wild, 20% from Backstep and 10% when riding the Armored Crimson Jaguar)
  • Has a drain skill

Mercedes

Low HP, average damage reduction, but superior regeneration capability.
  • +1500 HP from Ancient Warding
  • 40% damage reduction from Water Shield (including the 10% bonus from its Hyper Skill)
  • 5% HP/MP recovery every 4 seconds on top of standard HP/MP regeneration

Wind Archer

Average HP and average damage reduction.
  • +20% HP from Wind Blessing and +1500 HP from Albatross
  • 50% Damage Reduction (30% from Featherweight and 20% if Emerald Flower is summoned)
  • No drain skill

Avoidance

Archer's ability to avoid damage or resisting a status is equivalent to that of the Thief class and makes up for the lack of defense capabilities.

It should be noted that a funded player with capped weapon avoid would favour Dodge rate over Evasion rate.

Bow Master

Average dodge and evasion with unstable but excellent status resistance.
  • +30% dodge from Illusion Step and +30% evasion rate from Evasion Boost
  • +20% passive status resist with an additional +5~80% from Focused Fury (has a 30s CD when a fatal status is avoided through the skill)
  • Invincibility frames during Hookshot

Marksman

Average dodge and evasion with standard status resistance.
  • +30% dodge from Illusion Step and +30% evasion rate from Evasion Boost
  • -50% weapon and magic avoid when using Reckless Hunt: Crossbow
  • +20% status resist from Pain Killer with the ability to clear all statuses and make you immune to it for 1 second every 5 minutes
  • Invincibility frames during Hookshot

Wild Hunter

No dodge, high evasion rate and average status resistance
  • +55% evasion rate (+15% from Call of the Wild, +40% from Flurry)
  • +45% status resist (+30% from Summon Jaguar and +15% from Nature Force)
  • Invincibility frames during White Heat Rush

Mercedes

High dodge, standard evasion, average status resistance. Has several skills with invincibility frames.
  • +40% dodge (+20% from Ignis Roar and +20% from Ancient Warding) and +20% evasion from Potential Power
  • +35% status resist from Water Shield (including the 10% bonus from Hyper skills)
  • 100% invincibility frame skill combination (Rising Rush and Rolling Moonsault) and also invincibility during Lightning Edge and Gust Dive

Wind Archer

Average dodge and evasion, with sub-standard status resistance capabilities.
  • +30% dodge rate from Wind Blessing and +30% evasion from Second Wind
  • +25% status resist (+10% from Featherweight and +15% from Albatross Max)
  • Does not have Hero's Will
  • Link skill increases Status Resist but cannot be stacked with other Cygnus Knights' link skill
  • Invincibility frames during Wind Walk

Damage Efficiency

Archer's ignore defense (%ID) and elemental resistance ignore capabilities vary significantly between each class.

Bow Master (Hurricane + Arrow Blaster installation)

Lacking in general. Link skills and the Leafre Codex are essential.
  • No elemental resistance ignore
  • 25% ID from Marksmanship, 50% ID from Armor Break (activating roughly every 1 in 4 shots) and 5% ID from Sharp Eyes (with its Hyper Skill)
  • A total %ID of 34.4% on average

Marksman (Snipe)

High ignore defense rate.
  • No elemental resistance ignore
  • 20% ID from the skill itself, 25% ID from Marksmanship and 50% ID at max (min is 10% ID) from Weakness Finding
  • A total %ID of 70% at max distance

Wild Hunter (Wild Arrow Blast)

Lacking in general. Link Skills and Leafre Codex is essential.
  • No elemental resistance ignore
  • 30% ID from Wild Instinct and 20% ID from Hyper Skills
  • A total %ID of 44%

Mercedes (Ishtar's Ring)

Highly efficient class with very stable damage provided you have 100% critical.
  • +25% elemental resistance ignore from Defense Break
  • 20% ID from Hyper Skills, 50% ID from Spikes Royale (with its Hyper Skill) and 25% ID from Defense Break
  • A total %ID of 70%

Wind Archer (Sky Song)

High Resistance Ignore but lacks %ID. Link Skills and Leafre Codex is essential.
  • +50% elemental resistance ignore from Elemental Expert
  • 15% ID from Albatross, 20% ID from Hyper Skills and 10% ID from Emerald Dust
  • A total of %ID of 38.8%

Mobility

Like most jobs, archers tend to have one or two escape/traveling methods and does not have a notable weakness in this regard.

Bow Master

Satisfactory mobility.
  • 100% power stance for 30s from Concentration (with a cooldown of 90s)
  • Double Jump - Can jump left, right, up, and even down.
  • Covering Fire - Somewhat useful for escaping, however it is not essential. Double Jump is adequate enough in almost all scenarios.
  • Hookshot - Useful training skill to maneuver around different platforms. Limited use in bossing. Requires a target for movement, flinches the target hooked onto. Unglitches Magnus if he freezes at times.
  • Hurricane - You may move and jump while shooting.

Marksman

Satisfactory mobility. Minor inconvenience to sustain max distance against your target.
  • No power stance, however does not have a rapid fire skill and so it is not as important as it is for other archers
  • Double Jump - Can jump left, right, up, and even down.
  • Hookshot - Useful training skill to maneuver around different platforms. Limited use in bossing. Requires a target for movement, flinches the target hooked onto. Unglitches Magnus if he freezes at times.

Wild Hunter

Post-Black Heaven, WH has an incredibly easy set-up for bossing. Shooting while walking backwards, no more increased hit box and no awkward mount movements while bossing.
  • 100% power stance (depends on your Jaguar) - not applicable while bossing
  • Double Jump - Able to jump twice in mid-air when mounting
  • Backstep - AKA Moonwalk
  • White Heat Rush - Propels you diagonally upwards. Has some use in Gollux, but in other bosses, not so much. Mainly useful for jumping onto higher platforms.

Mercedes

The length of the following list should be enough to show that this class is all about mobility. Flexible and has a skill that suits every need.
  • 100% power stance for 60s from Elvish Blessing (with a cooldown of 90s)
  • Updraft - Unique vertical mobility that allows you to propel nearly instantly up ropes and ladders
  • Glide Blast - Shorter double jump distance compared to the rest of the archers
  • Rising Rush - Rush skill that links into Aerial Barrage or Rolling Moonsault
  • Lightning Edge - Links into Rising Rush. An incredibly fast horizontal movement skill when combined with Rising Rush.
  • Spikes Royale - This skill forces you to jump (higher than your normal jump) and links well with Gust Dive and Leap Tornado.
  • Rolling Moonsault
  • Gust Dive
  • Leap Tornado
  • Ishtar's Ring - You may move and jump while shooting.

Wind Archer

The inability to move while Sky Song may feel lacking and the lack of stance makes it very discouraging, but Wind Walk is a very useful core movement skill for Wind Archers.
  • No stance
  • Double Jump - You can jump forward or up.
  • Wind Walk - Feature skill for Wind Archer and allows you to shift horizontally. Can be used mid-air an infinite number of times.
  • Sky Song - Cannot move while shooting.

Party Skills

  • Sharp Eyes (All archers except Mercedes) - +20% critical rate (an additional 5% critical rate and a 5% ignore defense bonus can be gained from Bow Master and Marksman Hyper Skills that applies to the party) and +30% max critical damage.
  • Call of the Wild (Wild Hunter) - +10% attack to party.
  • Unicorn Spike (Mercedes) - Monster debuff yielding +30% damage to whomever attacks the monster.
  • Spikes Royale (Mercedes) - Monster debuff yielding 50% ignore defense to whomever attacks the monster.
