Next Generation Consoles - You in or Out?

So...are you gonna buy them when they're released/pre order them? Or are you done with consoles/gaming in general?

Probably won't get another. I'm 18 and work for my money now, and I don't really need any more distractions besides those that I already have

Well the Star Fox characters are still in the Super Smash Bros. series, meaning they haven't given up on them completely...just like how Kid Icarus was resurrected, and a Pikmin game is in the works, maybe Star Fox will pop up again (apart from the remake of Star Fox 64 for the 3DS)

@irule134: Ohok, that's cool.

Hold on, I'm going out to buy a game with the $300 I make a week from my job. Not only did I balance my budget, what with money left to eat and do other stuff with, but I now have a new game! I chose the game carefully for gameplay and replay value and didn't blindly buy a game out of general impulse or fanboyism. This guarantees that that 20% of my paycheck that I spent was invested in a good game, and I have no buyer's remorse.

Even more, if I choose to stick to portables, which have a decent library, I can save up to 50% on games! I have to consider whay I buy a bit more now, due to the amount of shovelware existing for the consoles, though, but it's not such a big problem! Then again, I can always buy a simcard, or wait for the Japanese to crack the PSV and wait for similar effects to occur in North America, and pay no money for games!

I'm just going to convert to PC gaming, I've wanted to for a very long time now but my parents never allowed me to get a high end PC. I'll have one by this summer though so the xbox360 that I have will probably just be used for xbox exclusive games like Halo 4, don't really know of many others.

I'm just gonna wait till Sony, Nintendo And Microsoft stop ripping off eachother.
In short, to the PC.

I'm willing to wait a decade to purchase many games released these days for dirt cheap prices. I'm still hunting around for many psx and gamecube games <3

I'll probably wait a bit for some of the big-name franchises to produce viable titles for the next gen before I go out and buy any of them. I'm not going to do what I did last time and be forced to spend like a month playing nothing but Wii Sports until I could afford Zelda: TP just because I wanted to get a Wii as soon as I could...

>be a [casual] PC gamer
>console gamers argue that console gaming is soooo much better because they don't have to buy a good computer
>I pirate PC games; save thousands
>idiots continue to argue using that same argument

I would love to say sticking with PC, but the only games I can run have graphics like City of Heroes or Morrowind.
Gotta go with Microsoft's next console. If KH III comes out on Sony (Probably will) I might just die.

Gonna wait a while after their release when their prices start to go down, and then see if I can't pick up a Wii U

Out. I've been done with buying new consoles for a long time now. The DSi was an exception because my GBA would be all fuzzy after a while of playing it, drains AA batteries like no tomorrow and it has no backlight. Also, just playing remakes of games I never played before and I have to say, I really hate the graphics. Why can't they have a modern mode too (same storyline, better graphics)? -____-
Also never was a big console person - games were expensive to me then so I really owned 10 at the most. Still expensive to me now and the last game I bought was Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for either Gamecube or PS2.

probably..I missed out on some of my fav series this generation (no ps3) but im still not ready to move on...I mean i feel like it still too soon like developers are just hitting there stride and really utilizing the consoles now compared to two years prior
Simply put im pissed at next generation of consoles, for me the main reason is that they are trying to stop people from buying used games they think every1 is made of money i mean why would they do that not every1 can piss away 60 dollars for a new game >.< well thats just me if you think differently then thats your opinion ans this is mine
I'm assuming you're talking specifically about Sony, and how they dropped the whole backward compatibility thing, unlike Nintendo and Microsoft, who have at least more success with it.

I'm planning on pre-ordering a Wii U with whatever 1st party games I can get with it.

As long as EA keeps on going with the FIFA series, I'm going to get whatever system is necessary to play it.

They should just keep selling the current systems. Kind of how they did the Xbox 360S and slim PS3. Keep pushing the current ones but with better specs. I've spent atleast $1,000 on my xbox. (I think) in games. If they move on to a different system I won't want to join in. Keep the current but make it so we can upgrade them so they are the latest and greatest.

EDIT: is there anyway to get a 1TB drive for my xbox and transfer the data from my old one to the new one?

As long as they're making decent Ps3 games, I'll stick with that, I've got my Ps3 for over 2 years now and I still only have 4 games. Everything is way too expensive.. So I only buy games I'm a 100% sure I'll get platinum for it and a whole lot more (Mw2, Nfs Hot pursuit, GoW3 and Skyrim).
I use my Ps3 for video's and music too though, so I'm fine for a looong time.
Still waiting for more info about the new Hitman..

TBH I will only get them when there are enough games that are available for that platform and that platform only. Many games are beginning to translate onto PC. I don't play PS3 or XBox360 because I like the specific system, but because some of the games are unavailable for PC without using things like emulators. Games are expensive... buying everything new is not a preference for me, I'd rather buy and resell, or buy used, rent, or... something else...

Point is, if games like the future Final Fantasy 15 or a potential God of War 4 or whatever that really grabs my interest is available for future consoles ONLY, then I will buy them. Otherwise, I can do without.

Wii U seems great, not a huge fan of the controller, but you can still use your Wiimote.

I've been buying nintendo's consoles since the N64 so I might go for the Wiiu but not entirely sure yet. If the playstion's and Xbox's new consoles don't have backwards compatibility I'm not buying it =/

Real life doesn't need a system.

If I had to choose I would stick with PC gaming.

If there isn't a new Starfox game for the Wii-U, then no I won't be buying it.
