Basically, can I use a credit card to get some "prepaid card" and use that "prepaid card" for buying stuff online? If so, how? Thanks.

You can get vanilla mastercard/visa from like 7-11 and use it as a debit to buy stuff online instead of using a real debit or credit card.
edit: reread post. You can use entropay as a virtual debit card.

Vanilla prepaid and Greendot debit cards work for online purchases.
but it's better just to apply for a real debit card than pay $30 for just $25.
