Should i go with my corsair or my cannoneer? pros and cons please or any advice

Stick to corsair unless you invited into the exclusive cannoneer club

In all seriousness Corsair is faster than cannoneer and has a better bossing output if equally funded, can't beat an unfunded cannoneer's 50% damage increase and mobbing though.

Cons:

Wait until Eunwol.

What?
Cannoneers are actually quite tanky, well at least for a pirate.
They get pretty good skills for reducing damage:
Cannon Boost (1st job): W.def / M.def + 250.
(Mega)Monkey Magic (2nd/4th job): 4th job at max level gives 700 hp and 250 avoid.
Counter Crush (3rd job): Counters 20% of enemy attacks, which gets boosted by Pirate Spirit (4th job) to 35%. Ignoring about 1/3 of all attacks and dealing damage back is pretty significant.
Pirate Rush (3rd job): Increases hp by 20%, def by 50%, and abnormal status too.
Roll of the Dice (3rd job): Increases physical defense by 30% if rolled 2, increases hp and mp by 20% if rolled 3 (you shouldn't be aiming for these but they're still not bad). You get even more defense or max hp/mp if you roll a double (4th job).

Even when I play cannoneer, I still feel like they can take several hits before dieing. They're MUCH more defensive and have greater survivability than corsairs, not just "takes one more hit then Corsair to die"."Fake puppet"? Cannoneers don't have fake puppets what are you talking about? My point is, don't talk unless you know what you're talking about.

@rashoodyBM: 250def is nothing later on, Avoid is useless, 700HP is like 1/8 of the damage they do normally. My cannoneer has 2k (or was it 4k?) defense at lv140 and he still get's three shot, it's bad. Fake Puppet is the Anchor skill which is basically a recolor of the Archer's Puppet.

Im just going to say, my cannoner with 7k def and 24khp takes a lot more damage than my 3k def 13khp phantom
so in the survavility side cannoners only are better due to their higher hp pool (and is not even that bigger)

Man. I made the switch from corsair to Cannon because it was just ridiculous how squishy corsairs are. Such a pot drainer and I hardly use pots on the other characters

Dude, please, know what you're saying.
"He still gets three shot"? Do you have a cannoneer? Did you play a cannoneer? Did you even SEE a cannoneer?
I like how you're just making these stupid assumptions without knowing anything about cannoneer. I also like that you ignored about half my points. 20% HP, 50% DEF (both w. and m.), getting another 20% hp and/or 30% w.def (not including double down), and ignoring 35% of all attacks!

Puppet takes aggro of the monster, defending you from some of its attacks. If you were referring to Elite Puppet, you're still wrong because it absorbs some of your damage while dealing damage to nearby monsters.
Anchor pulls monsters towards the anchor and deals damage, then blows up when duration ends and dealing more damage. Monsters can still cast spells while being pulled, they can still hit you for full damage, unlike what they would do if there was a puppet or an elite puppet.
I honestly have no idea what you're even saying, you try to influence someone to play something with incorrect points and you don't even play the class or even know about it at all!
I'm assuming you have never played a cannoneer or have seen one before, because everything you're saying is just wrong.
