Interesting computer problem

So for like 3-4 days now, I've been having this really interesting text colouring problem with my start menu
See.... Or well maybe you don't see, but that's because the text goes transpant to whatever's under it....
And this is what happens when it's over my desktop background with part of the ludi fm

Oh.. Laptop..
If your GPU has gone bad then most likely you're going to need to get a new laptop @_@

Try updating the drivers as I previously linked.. hopefully that resolves it.
I have no idea how to find hardware information in laptops as I've never really used them before.
Find out what type of onboard GPU your computer has(If that's what you're using)
Go to their website and search around for driver updates.. most companies like AMD/Nvidia offer a Video Hardware Detection that automatically updates the drivers necessary.

If you have an ATI , Here's the AMD Site Drivers(Click automatic detect on the right hand side) : http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx
For Nvidia here's the site : http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us

Maybe your HDMI or Video cable needs to be replaced, or try unplugging it and plug back in.
HDMI cable wouldn't affect what he sees with print screen
Your Video Card is most likely dying out. (If you have a PCI-E video card you must replace that or insert back in the GPU that your Motherboard came with)
However if you never bought a PCI-E Video card(If you don't know what this is, look it up) , Purchase one because most likely your Motherboard Video Card is going bad.
It's also good to take into consideration the cables, replacing VGA or DVI cables which are the ones that provide video imput for your PC (Connects from Monitor to PC)

Try to update your Video Drivers as well.
Try to update your Video Drivers as well.

Uninstallation process of PCI-E Cards

If you have installed an PCI-E Video Card, re-insert the installation disk that came with it and click Uninstall Drivers.
You won't lose video output however your resolution will change to basic.
Once uninstalled, open up your PC and remove the card safely, reattach your VGA or DVI cable to your motherboard GPU and once you fire the PC up, it should detect the old motherboard card automatically and your problem should be fixed..
Most computers nowadays are programmed to automatically detect the original GPU once PCI-E slot is not occupied.

And restarting and shutting down, and everything.
