F/p or Battle Mage
Hey everyone, i am wondering which of the 2 classes is better and i'm mainly concern with their bossing ability.(but i can farm easily with bkb amazing vertical range <3)
So lets say i have ~30k range on my battle mage, with battle king bar, i should be doing around (finishing blow 200% x 30k x 6 + bkb 400% x 30k x 70) = 1.2m in 1100ms and i have heard that f/p should have roughly half the range of battle mage which is ~15k. However, what i don't understand is that since we have to stack 5 dots to maximize the damage output of ME, so how long will the stacking take and how many paralyze can be used within 10 sec after all the stacking?
If the speed of finishing blow plus bkb is 1100ms, that will mean i can hit roughly 9.09 times 1.2m in 10 seconds and what range should my f/p has in order to match with the battle mage?
Lastly, i have heard with elemental reset f/p damage will stay untouched for most bosses compared to battle mage being halved.is that true?

I have both mages and I can same from experience they both have their pros and cons. The only reason I switched over to my f/p mage is because on high leveled bosses such as pink bean, empress, magnus nerf any elements( including neutral) and basically cut your damage in half, Arc mages can bypass this because of their elemental reduction skill, bams cannot.

No, 'cuz thats different, normal mobs and bosses, on a boss like those you mentioned you probably do like 30k per line

@Vain I think I might have spare skillbooks if you make a f/p... Not sure about bam skillbooks though. Recently i've only seen mw/xenon/kaiser/ab skillbooks in fm... And everyone's selling emp

Pictures of my f/p at zak with no link skills and crap equips (12% int, emp has no pots and is season 1. Considering that the magic book event just ended you could probably grab a mage emp while it's still cheap.)
And yes the elemental decrease is really useful, i'm currently quite noob so I can't go much bosses, but on bosses like hilla my damage is higher than other classes because of that

Personally I have both characters, but my battle mage is like.. level 2x. So I'm not sure about that. I have a level 141 UA f/p, but it isn't my main so I can't really help much. But I feel that f/ps have an interesting playstyle (of stacking dots) and have high damage

Casting all of your DoTs takes a little over 3 seconds. From then on it is paralyze spam and Mist Eruption when it is off cool down. Something to remember though is that we don't have to recast DoTs every time we use Mist Eruption. A single DoT lasts for over 3 casts of Mist Eruption once you have the cool down cutter hyper skill. Also F/P and Battle Mages have very similar damage once you calculate all of their final damage, so a 15k F/P would have about the equivalent of a 30k BaM. Also, yes. Against most end game bosses, F/Ps are the hardest hitting classes due to the fact that they ignore elemental and physical resistance. Huge advantage.
