Lets Brainstorm to Make the Best Basil Market System. Ever

[header]COMMUNITY ACTION PLAN:[/header]
[header]LET'S BRAINSTORM TOGETHER TO MAKE THE BEST BASIL AUCTION SYSTEM. EVER.[/header]

tldr @ the bottom~
Note: This thread is for collective suggestions for the AUCTION/SELL AND TRADE part of BasilMarket.com
(you know, the buying/selling/trading system that everyone is complaining about?).
This is not a place to put overall suggestions for the site (such as censor problems, banning issues, etc).

For overall suggestions, go here. With THIS thread, if I get enough community feedback, I plan to take this thread to @Mrbasil so that we can see some real, collective community action for the Auction/S&T System

[header]1. The Problem[/header]

After going through a bit of the BasilMarket forum, let's be honest about Basil's current market system.

It seems that a lot of the people here:
1) Appreciate the new features of the new sell-and-trade system, but do not like the new system compared to the ease of the old Basil Auction system
2) Liked the old Auction system for its ease of use [this & this], but realize that it's awesome to be able to barter as well as sell/buy items
3) Are a mix of 1 & 2 -- and want to do something about it

[header]2. The Proposed Solution[/header]

Everyone has some sort of opinion as to how the auction/sell-and-trade system should be, and most people here seem to be able to justify as to what should stay in the system and what should go.

Soo... if we all have such great teamwork abilities and of course, a gazillion minds can be better than one - why don't we brainstorm what's working for us and what's not working for us in the auction/sell-and-trade system, and then together, come up with a proposed solution? Won't that be fun?

[header]3. How This Thread Will Work[/header]

Let's try to shoot some ideas about a proposed auction/sell-and-trade system, starting from the ground up. Say what you do like and what you don't like, along with why (stating the pros and cons for the Basilers AND for Mrbasil) [see template below]. I'll add the most popular ideas up here to create a master list (seeing as I said before that "most people here seem to be able to justify as to what should stay in the system and what should go&quot. If we get enough feedback going, I think we'll have enough of our own justification to go to @Mrbasil with our proposed solution.

[header]4. Ground Rules[/header]
Here are some ground rules for y'all when posting here (besides the Basil ToS/forum posting rules):

1)When a person posts an idea, they should post in the following format: (don't forget to bold!)
Idea/Problem:
PROS (for Basilers and Mrbasil):
CONS (for Basilers and Mrbasil):
Here's an Example Post:
Idea/Problem: I think that the required levels of respective items should be listed next to an item listing.
For example, if you look here, the required level needed to wear each staff listed isn't shown there.
PROS (for Basilers and Mrbasil): You can see the required level needed at a glance and don't have to go searching on Basil for each and every thing that you're interested in buying/selling/trading/whatever. This will also allow for ease of use on your site, Mrbasil.
CONS (for Basilers and Mrbasil): I can't really think of any cons that might put I for Basilers, tbh. It'd really increase the ease of access for users on Basil. For Mrbasil, I don't think it'd be that hard to code into your site, because when you go here, the item levels for all staffs are all mentioned there. That being said, this feature isn't ABSOLUTELY needed and is more to appease the lazy ones among us. It's just a suggestion ^_^
2) For an idea to get "accepted" as a real suggestion on this master list here, at least 5 people need to back up your idea by liking your post. I'll put up any new ideas up here for update's sake. The '5 vote needed' thingy is to ensure that people aren't just giving random ideas and little gullible me isn't just adding any idea to the master list because one person said that their idea is good idea. We need to agree on some things around here, at least

So let the brainstorm begin!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[header]What We Want to Have on Basil's Market System:[/header]
1) @Duckmanneo 's suggestions
(Return of the Auction Search feature, potential % search feature, Return of the Price Check function, Browsing section, Random 'Items of the Day') [1 like]

2) @PirateB0Bx 's suggestions
(bonus potential stat line) [1 like]

[header]What We Don't Want to Have on Basil's Market System:[/header]
* Suggestion 1

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
tldr: To the lazy-but-still-activist bums of BasilMarket, youuu: let's tell @Mrbasil what we, as a collective Basiling group, want to see in the BasilMarket AUCTION/SELL&TRADE system and what we want to see out of the BasilMarket AUCTION/SELL&TRADE system. To get an idea how to do this, get off your tush and read section 4. Happy brainstorming!

Idea/Problem: There is no way of differentiating between normal potential and bonus potential on listed items, so we should have another space to fill in bonus potential on our items.
PROS (for Basilers and MrBasil): It will make it easier to list items with bonus potential, so that we can much more easily include it when an item's potential is still hidden. Not only that, but it will tell buyers what lines are bonus so that they know what lines can be changed with respective cubes, should they choose to do so.
CONS (for Basilers and MrBasil): I cannot think of anything serious, other than maybe cluttering up an item's stats. But I think this would be negligible and well worth it.

Thanks for reading at least a bit of my post, guys! However, I should have been really clear.

This thread is for the AUCTION/SELL AND TRADE part of BasilMarket.com (you know, the buying/selling/trading system that everyone is complaining about?). This is not a place to put overall suggestions for the site (such as censor problems, banning issues, etc).

For suggestions not having to do with the auction/sell&trade function of BasilMarket, may I direct you here . With THIS thread, if I get enough community feedback, I plan to take this to @Mrbasil so that we can see some real, collective community action
Seeing as I am quite the newb here ^_^, if y'all could explain what a TLDR is first, I shall be glad to add it if I can
TLDR is an acronym for Too long, didn't read. Mostly because no one wants to read over a wall of text. Usually at the bottom of a large post is a quick summary of what the thread is about.

Why would I be making this if I didn't think it would work? If we all work together, it should.
