What is Stress?

How do I know if I am stressing?
When you have taken in too much, you are overloaded. Your mind lets go of this by stress.

Stress is healthy. Stress helps you rethink your life and pushes you to make the decisions that you think is right. Some stress is helpful when they push you into decisions when you know you are about to make a mistake or the wrong decision. There is a limit to stress though. When you have an overload of stress and it makes you weary. When you stop making the right decisions, and you know it. Never lose control of your stress. If you do, follow the steps below.

Common Causes of Stress

 • Relationships
 • Losing a Job
 • Loss of a family member
 • Life problems
 • Money problems
 • Illness
 • Family problems

There are many many causes of stress. It does not stop here.

Steps to Relieve Stress

You must know that stress is common with everyone. Once you comprehend that information. Even if you have little stress and feel as if you wish to relieve it. You may follow the steps below.

 1. Do you know why you are stressing out? What is causing you to worry? Are you able to name the stress?
- Be sure to talk to a close friend that you can open to. You will feel better once they talk to you, and you know that someone out there cares for you and understands. Most of the time when your problems go out, you realize it is not something you should totally stress out about.

 1. Are you able to see what actions or decisions you should take?
- You should follow your first instinct. If you know that this decision may be wrong, you should rethink it. Follow your call to action if you know it has been bothering you. Decisions and actions should be out of goodwill.

 1. How much of the problem are you able to grasp?
- Are you able to control this problem? You should think about how you will be able to fix this problem. Come up with a plan to tackle the problem from behind.

 1. Relieve your stress. Let it go.
- In life, everything has to be let go at one point. You can either take steps to relieve the stress, or you let it go.

You can relieve stress by learning more about the problem. Thinking of actions , or daily routines, you can take to fix/relieve the problem. Come up with a plan to tackle the problem. Either come through with your decision, or let it go.

Ways to Help Relieve Stress

 • Make sure you are on a healthy diet. If you are not on a healthy diet, you body/mind will create unbearable chemicals.

 • Make sure you sleep about 7-9 hours per day. 8 is highly recommended.

 • Try some stress-free foods such as salads, and fruits.

 • Exercise a few times per week.

 • Make your daily schedule and stick to it regularly.

 • Set your most important priorities, and follow through with it.

 • Set realistic goals, and don't bear too much that you cannot handle.

 • Don't become overcommitted.

 • Leave out things that are not as important.

Examples of some Stress-Related Problems :

This is not from fellow Basilers. These are just examples, and are made up.

Example : Devi is scared of failing one of her classes. Her problem is that because of this fear, she is not willing to try at any level. She is stressing out about failing but will not try.

Solution : Everyone should be able to try. If Devi tried in her class, her grade will dramatically improve. Even if she does fail, she should at least try. She will learn over time, and try better the next time she hits this problem.

Example : Jeremy has problems with bullying at school and he is bullied online by the community of MapleStory. He has thoughts of sadness, and depression that will push him down in life. He is stressed from both ends.

Solution : He will soon out-live the bullying. He needs to learn to let go of the angry and stress. Time will pass and people will get older.

Relaxing your mind.

After you have taken the steps to relieve your stress, you can try these activities.

 • You can try expressing yourself in writing. Let go of your feelings onto a piece of paper. You can express this in any way. Poetry, a story, a letter, etc.

 • Let your feelings out. You can cry, talk, laugh, whatever feels necessary. Talk with friends, family, or someone you know you can open to.

 • Do something you enjoy. You can do a hobby, a puzzle, a game, art, helping the community. Whatever makes you happy, and does not give you stress.

 • Meditate, this doesn't mean the actual meditate. You can calm yourself. Sit down and close your eyes. Think of what makes you happy. Why aren't you there right now?

 • Exercise. This is the considered the best way to relieve stress. If your body feels good, so do you.

 • Just take a deep breathe.

 • Listen to music you like, happy ones are nice.

There is never a number on how many ways there are to relieve stress. Some people feel that they do not have any times for things they enjoy. They might think there are more important things to do. There is always time for enjoyment. You need to know when you let go , but not too much. You have a duty in life. You must let yourself go the best of your ability. You must also know when you stop. Never fully stop but continue.

Quotes to Help Stress

Doc Childre, The How To Book of Teen Self Discovery
Heart power is the tool of the stress buster and the key to the continuous high you are looking for in life. Realize you can get a quick fix for depression and boredom by releasing the power in your own heart.

Doc Childre and Howard Martin, The HeartMath Solution
Stress is the body and mind's response to any stressful pressure that disrupts the balance in the mind or body. It occurs when our perceptions of events don't meet our expectations and we don't manage our reaction to the disappointment. As a response, stress expresses itself as resistance, tension, strain or frustration, that throws off our physiological and psychological equilibrium, keeping us out-of-sync and stressed-out.

Doc Childre, The How To Book of Teen Self Discovery
The more care you put into your life, the more life will care for you, bringing you fun adventures, great friends, and real inner security. Caring is just good streetsense -- So, Judge less and unstress, Care more and high score.

Doc Childre and Howard Martin, The HeartMath Solution
The irony is this: Our bodies react to stress in exactly the same way whether or not we have a good reason for being stressed. The body doesn't care if we're right or wrong. Even in those times when we feel perfectly justified in getting angry--when we tell ourselves it's the healthy response--we pay for it just the same.

Doc Childre and Sara Paddison, The HeartMath Discovery Program
The point of balance is the heart. It's the foundation on which to build. Activating heart frequencies by loving and caring will balance your system, bringing in peace in the moment. It's the best antidote for restoring balance and alleviating stress.

Sara Paddison, The Hidden Power of the Heart
Appreciating each other is a true family value, one that will bail out much of the stress on the planet and help strengthen the universal bond all people have.

I highly consider at least 7 hours if you want to maintain a healthy life style. Less than 7 hours is inexcusable.
