Why can't I change the priority of maplestory.exe?

I can't change it. I want it set higher, so maybe I won't d/c so much.
But every time I try to it says "operation cancelled. access is denied".
What's wrong?

Because there are 20+ other processes running. It's very time consuming, and I don't want to accidentally crash an important one and end up having to restart my computer, defying the purpose of the whole thing.
Windows 7, 64bit.
No one can, it won't really change much. What operating system are you using?
