stupidity on basil
can we please set age limits on forums?
everyone should know that it's unsafe to talk to strangers online, and knowing that children as young as 8 years old have this power is completely unsettling
this is coming from a person who is forever scarred for wandering online from age 8. and i do regret it
and plus, it is becoming apparent that basil chat forum cannot sustain a good discussion nor even start a topic of interest
and mr basil, you have a history of stringent measures, but all of your efforts have been to no avail once you allowed the youngsters in. useless

BasilMarket should be the least of someones concerns for an 8 year old
I could think of a dozen sites an 8 year old could easily get access to that are intended for older users
Why is it that everyone associates intelligence with age?
Intelligence and mental maturity have very little to do with age
I'm pretty sure he's always "allowed the youngsters" in this site o.o
Plus, as it's been said, it's easy to lie about someone's age.
Maple is age 10+, so mrbasil wants the site to be available to anyone who plays the game. Meaning the site is also age 10+, and I can respect that :I
We already have an age limit, 10+ and yet, we have 8-9yr olds on this site. It means nothing.

I am part of multiple forums which have a membership fee. Not only is the thread content those forums better, but it gives rise to a really tight community.
There's still going to be stupid people, regardless of their age. =/
I think even with age limits there will be plenty of stupid people. It seems to me age doesn't matter too much in terms of maturity.
They'd just lie about their age.
I always sign up for everything as an 18-year-old, just to make sure that I'll be able to join.

i should make a new proposition: set a higher age limit on maplestory
it's obvious that nexon doesn't care about the mental health of children when they can get money

Make Basil (or at least parts of it) a pay to post forum, problem solved.
A majority of the idiocy on these forums comes from users that are already teenagers. If I had to give an age range, I'd say 13-15 has the highest occurence of suspensions. (If anything, that's our largest user-base anyway).
Ironically, the really young users are more innocent most of the time.
age has no correlation to intelligence
i am pretty sure every 15-17 year old here is just as stupid and annoying as anybody younger.
It's a Maplestory based forum.

I have already lost hope for Chat Island to sustain any form of maturity at all and I've come to accept it.

If your reffering to the trolls, theyve gotten worse then good trolls. Most people don't know how to properly troll nowadays.

What's the point of age limits? there was an age limit for maplestory a while back but did that stop em? >_>
