Fun

Hey Basil, why is the ZombieOverlord so depressing?

It's like he gives so many things a chance to make him sad and takes it.
Any tips to help him cheer up for at least a while? God knows he needs it.

Emotions are a result of your brain releasing specific hormones for each 'triggered' feeling.

If you're depressed a lot, your body will become accustomed to it and allow such feelings to happen in scenarios where you can choose not to feel this way. [e.g - you may purposefully misinterpret certain actions by others, or you may simply choose to recall bad memories at times].

In a way, it's an 'addiction', but it can be more easily controlled than substance abuse.

@ZombieOverlord: I've been considering trying mediation to keep my mind off stuff. I dunno how it'll work but try it? o:
I'm mostly okay now after I managed to start on my paper.
I'm just just tired if nothing else right now.

I've always been one to counsel my friends, so if you'd like to I'm always here to talk to although now's not the best time, considering that I was about to go to sleep...
Pm me if you feel up to it and I'd be happy to get back to you when I can so we can talk whenever~

Go see a professional psychiatrist or at least get a counsellor. Exercise helps too.

Stock up on comfort foods like bananas, ice cream and chocolate too. Eat the last two in moderation though.

Any suggestions?
Smoke a bowl. You'll likely know someone who knows someone who can get you one.
@ZombieOverlord: I see. have you tried talking to one of them at least?
I've actually made friends in college and they're really nice.
but of course, there are people like what you stated.
I try every now and then, but nothing really comes of it.
I'm a bit wary of making new friends these days, more reclusive.
Hell, I can't even keep up the egotistical me on basilmarket anymore.

no one from your college?
or your previous high school wants to hang out?
People in my classes are rarely social, always busy with their own devices. I try to strike up conversations, but they seem disinterested.
I just go to class, then go home straight after.
All my friends from HS left for colleges different from mine, rarely even contact anymore.
@Segumisama It's alright. I don't think I'm really in the mood for it anyhow.

:c Well, if you need anyone to talk to, just talk to me as well since I get depressed a lot.
But I'm slowly overcoming it.

I usually just hang out with friends. But sometimes, when I get home, I start to feel empty for no reason. kinda sad.
But it's 10x better.
I think when I see my friends happy, it makes me a little happy.
Empty feelings galore.
The only problem is that I have no friends to hang out with.
Seems like the scale of friends I have is starting to tip over to Basil's side in recent months.
Thus is my life.
