I'm kinda wondering what I am, because I'm not religious but I'm not athiest. If anything, I'm like a little bit of everything, Atheism included.
Maybe you're just irreligious?

You cannot be atheist if you believe in God. Let alone believing in religion, which is already pretty obvious now.
I hate how most surveyed statuses label the majority of people in countries such as China as atheist when they're clearly not. Most people just don't give a damn. That doesn't make them atheists. Atheists are people who do care and are proud of it.
Believing in God does not necessarily have to do with believing in religion. I associate religion with its rules written in the bible, quran, and such. That's how I see many religion (at least for Christianity, Islam, and Judaism) knowing that a true religious person would be willing to follow everything in the bible, quran, and such.

I am irreligious and I don't associate God with the bible, Quran, and such. I question religion, but never God. I mean, what's there to question about God? God is beyond human comprehension, isn't it? There is no point in questioning God, let alone "going against" God or not believing in God. If you ask me, I'd call religion a cult (that was a joke, of course. It is pointless to assume God's actions, intentions, beliefs, or even existence. At least in my views.)

I find religion fascinating and I know quite a lot about the Bible but I'm not part of any religion.

I'm non-denominational Christian and I will probably never lose my faith...but I don't go around forcing down peoples' throats like you guys always say we do. And yes, Catholics are VERY different from what I am. Catholics are wrong. And they're what you guys always think of when someone says "Christian".

Well do you believe in God? Yes or no? It's a yes or no question.

@UAPaladin You don't need Catholicism to teach your kids good morals.. You don't need a religion to tell your kids not to steal and not to kill people, it's common sense and basic parenting that anyone should be doing regardless of their religion.

One could even argue Catholicism in particular comes with a whole host of bad morals, as the Catholic church has historically promoted hate by condemning homosexuals. In the year 2013 with the knowledge we have right now about the brain I personally would not want to be brainwashing my kids with outdated facts.

@Billionz "Atheists are people who do care and are proud of it." Unfortunately you're not allowed to make up definitions for words just because you want to. The definition of atheism is a lack of belief in a god(s). Nothing else. Chinese people are atheist to a large extent since Buddhists don't believe in God.

I am catholic and I applaud homosexuals and what they stand up for. They are no different than I am, I can't be one to judge them because that would make me be wrong too. My Uncle is gay and I love him very much.

OT : I am catholic, but in no way do I take it seriously. I'm pretty sure I believe in God, but then again I am totally open to new ideas and how others perceive the world. I love asking friends how what they think of it, and how we are different, and the same. I just think it's extremely stupid to have arguments about religions because no one will ever be 100% correct whether their beliefs are real or not, so they shouldn't waste their time.
Why do you consider yourself Catholic if you're not going to follow what the Catholic Church says though? Catholic bishops are suppose to be the successors of Christ's apostles, and The Pope is suppose to be the successor of Saint Peter, who Jesus Christ gave the keys of heaven to.

By denying the Catholic Church you are essentially denying your religion. It's like saying you're a Pokemon fan but you collect Digimon cards and watch Digimon. So my question for you is if you're not going to follow the doctrines of Catholicism then why even classify yourself as one? Why not just be spiritual.. or someone who believes in God, why do you consider yourself Catholic?

"Is there anyone here who is really into **there** religion" THEIR*

I think religion is dumb. I used to be Catholic. Going to Sunday school and attending church was so annoying. I also wasn't interested in it in the first place. I moved away from religion as I got older because of science. I also started to believe that more and more things in the bible were bs. I just lost my religion completely.

Science ftw.

EDIT: and lock this thread. All threads relating to religion end up in a STUPID argument/flame war.

@TrueAtheist: I have been baptized, I have made my communion, and I have been confirmed. I went to catechism, where I was taught of Jesus and his ways. I believe in Jesus Christ and God. I grew up learning about the Bible, and going to church. That does not at all mean I have follow up to be the "perfect catholic." I am not necessarily denying my religion, because I KNOW I am religious, even if I am a bit unsure of it. I just find it insanely stupid that people think I have to follow a strict guideline with being Catholic. I enjoy being open to very many new concepts, because I would feel nothing but ignorant if I did not acknowledge other ideas.

I don't even know if I answered your question, and if I did not I am sorry. I'm not exactly in my right state of mind so my thoughts may be jumbled.
Haha no you answered it, and ok fair enough!

lol dude you cant call yourself catholic and then say you applaud homos, being gay is a sin and the world these days saying its okay when its not okay are fooling themselves.
Basically your being a hypocrite when you say that. Sure you dont need bash on gay people and you can be friendly and nice, but you cant be supportive of their choice of lifestyle and then call yourself catholic ...... we dont pick and choose what to believe. you either believe it all, or you call yourself something else.

You should listen to what you just told Billionz. You are not the authority on how other people use words. Atheism is commonly used to describe a range of ideas from simple lack of belief in deities to conscious rejection of a particular deity. "lack of belief in a god(s)" is what you mean when you say atheism and nothing else. You both made the same mistake of assuming your meaning is the only correct one and that anyone who diverges from that meaning has made an error. It's clear to me that Billionz was saying the Buddhist atheists in China are not the same as new atheists.
