(And of course there weren't any clues about that when you got hit by the thing.)

It's true, we have to remember whose programming expertise we're talking about here.

@j0shlink That would work, as long as the hackers didn't figure out a way to fake being hit by a lie detector so they were invincible all the time.

They could just make you invincible while the question/text box appear, and if you dont answer just send you back to town, that way it wont kill legit players and make bots go to a town.

Like DuhPro said, it's used to trap afk botters.
Unfortunately so many people used them on legit players, getting them killed, Nexon disabled it and removed it from the game.
Occasionally when they add a new town, the potion shop has Lie Detectors in it until someone at Nexon remembers to delete it again.
So they do show up now and then, but they still don't work.
