The Aran Zakum strategy
I want to see how other Arans pit themselves against Zakum.
I'll post my strategy here myself.
1. 1st off, I recommend having decent range, per say, 30-50k to solo Zakum effectively.
2. Make sure you have at least one skill maxed. Preferably Sudden Strike or Over Swing.
3. You [b]need[/b] Freeze Standing. Don't question that logic.
Now, to Zakum.
Now, I'm not super funded. I can't hit cap with Rolling Spin, so in this case, I would probably only use it against overspawn on mobs during the times he might Wep Cancel.
[b]Zakum's Arms[/b]: On this phase you want to be right on Zakum. His body has no hitbox when his arms are out and you will probably only take around 1k dmg from arms. In my case I only take around 300 for obvious reasons. Focus on the 2nd left arm from the bottom from your perspective. It is the curse arm, you want to take that one out ASAP. If not, you will undoubtedly be cursed and your time limit will fluctuate. Remember, do not put all priority on that one arm. Using Over Swing, you can hit the 3 arms on the right with Final Blow added and the 2 Arms to your left facing the right side. When those arms are done for, head for the top left and continue to use Over Swing. Keep in mind that the 3rd left arm in strong to ice, so you may want to right click Ice Charge out until then. Freeze Standing is important here since any normal job would be knocked off the top and with our close ranged melee combat, we would fall almost every time without it. After those arms are done, head to the right, turn on Ice Charge because the 3rd right arm is weak to ice, and continue to attack away. Sooner or later all arms are down and you should be at the body.
[b]Zakum phase 1[/b]: Your main skill now will be Final Toss if you maxed Sudden Strike. Now if you have your defense skills up and high defense in general take advantage of that and Combo Drain by tanking Zakums body. You should be taking around 2k or less damage making you more effective than some would think. Watch out for when he weapon attack cancels though, your tanking will become useless as well as Combo Drain and you might die just because of it. At this part in time when you can't do anything, focus on the mobs he spawns and avoid the annoying flame totems. When he's out of weapon attack cancel, continue what you did until his bar goes down. Make sure to always watch your HP and MP. You might think you're safe from the 1/1s, but I've been hit by then even when tanking Zakum that caused my death.
[b]Zakum phase 2[/b] In this phase Zakum tends to switch between Weapon and Magic attack cancel more often. Just a theory. He also does more damage and attacks more often. Defense rises a bit. Continue to do what you did in phase 1 but be more careful.
[b]Zakum phase 3[/b] In this stage, Zakum will attack much faster than any boss I've seen. Comparable to HT who has 9 parts while Zakum has 1. He will tend to spam the thunder seal move many times which gets annoying. Also, he will start to 1/1 like no tomorrow. To emphasize on this, he attacks faster than your invicibility frames last. He will also start to spawn ice strong monsters on the last portion of HP on his 2nd phase. You should have Snow Charge off by now because you will only do 1 dmg to mobs that will get in your way of Zakum if you let them live. Continue spamming FT on him until he is finished, but remember to stay vigilante and don't get impatient or fussy.

Its possible to kill him before 4rth job.
1-get pet
2-drop eof
3- stand in left or right bottom side of zakum
4-spam final blow combo to hit all arms
5-finish arms
6-get close to zak
7-finish him off with a tempest
8-get loot
@ImaClubYou: YOu cant kill zakum at level 50... and anyone in their right mind wont attempt to kill zakum below lvl 140 or so...

It really is as simple as this...
Here's what I do, personally.
1) Stand on top of the bottom left arm, use OSFB to take out the two on the bottom left, while hitting two on the bottom right at the same time.
2) After bottom left are done, climb up, kill top two on the left with OSFB / RS.
3) Use the teleporter and use OSFB until the furthest top right arm is dead, then move down to the 2nd platform and use OSFB to hit all 3 of the remaining arms.
4) Stand on top of Zak with Body Pressure and spam RS.

It's a good accomplishment anyway, how long did it take?

Leel I soloed with a 20k range after being hacked
This is what I do and it usually leads me to having a 8-10 min run with a 42k range buffed.
When the fight starts I stand on the body right next to the bottom left arm and start spamming OSFB (and I use tempest every time I get 200 combos which is about 2 before the arms are dead) until the bottom left, 2nd from bottom left and bottom right die
Then I head over to the right and stand on the platform next the the 3rd from the bottom until the top right is left then I get on the top platform and spam FT until the top
right arm dies.
I then go over to the left and start to kill the last 2 arms with OSFB.
Finally since have about 14k hp clean I tank the body and spam FT with body pressure on and use judgment for the extra dps with the DoT it has.
That's about it. lol
I also buff while I tank since my pet heals me

I personally built up this routine in zaking although it's definitely not the most efficient time wise but if it's all within a couple minutes I could care less xD
1) Take out 2 bottom left arms with osfb
2) Go to top left platform and FT or osfb whatever I'm feeling at the time and take out the top 2 arms on the left
3) Jump down and osfb 2 bottom right arms
4) Osfb 3rd from the bottom right, recast all buffs, take out last arm
5) Ft tanking on zak up until he dies, rebuffing on wep cancels etc.
I have my pet, familiar and skills for hp, mp and all cures. I never really cared about the ice strong arm or any certain time saving strategy hahahahha but I think I'll attempt at it today and see the differences xD
final toss or salad toss?or do you toss the salad with ur final toss..hold on..does this mean zakum is a salad?

take the middle with maxed final atk with 40k+ range and u hit almost all the arms

FT does hit the arms but OSFB's reach in all directions is overall better than FTs. It is an overall better move for enemy placements(Zakums arms) like Zakum.

I was centering this type of build towards people at least 150 that are competent in tanking but, okay.
@SacredSealed: What would you do after a 200 combo? I wouldn't suggest using a combo skill other than Combo Drain if I were you.
