I dont get why AEE's are so expensive wouldnt it be cheaper to buy a EE and use a protection scroll with it?
At first enhance: EE 80%, AEE 100%
Chance of 1 EE passing in 2 attempts = 0.80*0.30 + 0.20*0.80 = 0.40 = 40%
Chance of 1 AEE passing = 1.00 = 100%

At second enhance: EE 70%, AEE 90%
Chance of 1 EE passing in 2 attempts = 0.70*0.40 + 0.30*0.70 = 0.49 = 49%
Chance of 1 AEE passing = 0.90 = 90%

At third enhance: EE 60%, AEE 80%
Chance of 1 EE passing in 2 attempts = 0.60*0.50 + 0.40*0.60 = 0.54 = 54%
Chance of 1 AEE passing = 0.80 = 80%

At fourth enhance: EE 50%, AEE 70%
Chance of 1 EE passing in 2 attempts = 0.50*0.60 + 0.50*0.50 = 0.55 = 55%
Chance of 1 AEE passing = 0.70 = 70%

Need I go further?
So there's a 40% chance to pass a 80% scroll. Also not only 1, but two scrolls.
and as rate of pass decreases, you have a higher chance of landing the scroll

sounds right

It all depends whether or not you feel lucky using regular EE's.
I EE'd + PS the first 4 stars on my dagger, which ended up saving me around 60m per scroll. I figured, after like 5 stars, it would be a good idea to use AEE's.

Of course, Nexon seems to offer us free AEE's from time to time, so you can wait for those too.
I don't get the point you're trying to make with the "durr" thing, is it like how supposedly canadians say "eh?"?

If you're talking about the first time use of an aee versus first time use of an ee that has a protection scroll with it, I'd rather use the aee since you might get hit with that 20% chance of fail repeatedly to the point that it would have been cheaper to just use an aee in the first place.

If you're talking about an aee with a protection scroll compared to an ee with a protection scroll, then like I had said, until the 9th or 10th star, an aee has more chance of working and yet again, has a higher chance of not failing, which in the long run can save you lots of mesos. After the 9th/10th, both give the same number of chances of working, so of course it would be cheaper to go with an ee.

If you're not referring to either of those, then perhaps you could explain yourself better?
Ultimately depends on the prices of the protection scroll and aee scroll. But since you seem so confident that aee is a much cheaper way of enhancing than ee scrolls, have you done any math to back up your claim ?

I used advance, regular, regular all with protection all worked. 106 attack claw, hoping for 120.

I used EE's for the first 5-ish stars, because I think theoretically it's cheaper.
Afterwards, it'd be smart to buy AEE's
When you reach 10% chance for both, you obviously buy EE's.
