I have the SGH-T989 (T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 2) I'm running blackened ICS RC6 at the moment, loving ICS <3 Didn't make it, no idea how to cook a ROM.
I wish the screen had more resolution, I wish that samsung would update their devices before rolling out new ones. I wish the community on XDA wasn't such crap.

Sounds like its going into download mode.
I'm just a notive. For help I recommend going to XDA and posting either in the Q&A section or the general talk section.
Things to include would be what you may have done to provoke this into happening, if you were rooted or not, anything that can be helpful should be included in the OP for the fasest help from people more knowledgeable in this subject than me.
You're posting on Basil and saying that the community on XDA is crap...?
On a related note, I have the international SGS2 (GT i9100) feels good man, running MIUI v4.

I consider CM9 pretty stable. No major glitches or anything. Or foxhound ICS, last i remember it was 100% stable. I hate the official samsung ics, it just doesn't look as good. Also doesn't seem as smooth and such.
LG Optimus S, it's alright I guess.
I also have another issue with my phone, if I'm using wifi or watching a movie or sometimes even playing temple run the phone starts to overheat
what can I do to fix it?

I wish my battery would last longer, I can maybe get 3 days on a charge from light usage.
Otherwise I love it!
For those that experience lag, make sure you have > 60 MB of free phone storage/memory and reboot your phone regularly (like once per week)

I don't have an Android smartphone, but i do have an Android tablet. I have the ASUS Transformer Prime Tf201. Running stock everything.
International Galaxy S2, dual booted CM9/Stock.

And FU, You have the same CPU as the international S2. Makes things so much easier for you.
We didn't get working ICS till last week... Didn't fix auto rotation till a few days ago.

@shosen123: Well, there is this canadian company that has the SGH-T989D. I can only assume that its the same thing, I would do some research before flashing anything, or make a thread and ask. Worst case scenario, the answer is no. But atleast you didn't brick your nice phone! I'd love to have the smoother Exyquinos processor. Sure the snapdragon S3 is faster, but choppier!

No idea what the i9100m is, althought from the looks of it, its a rebranded international S2.
