What should I wear when I go clubbing?

Title^ I was thinking a casual dress shirt and I've been told not to wear jeans? Advice?

I think it really depends where you're going clubbing. Some places are more 'formal' but tbh, most clubs are pretty casual. I don't think there's a "no jeans" rule, because some people can look really good even with a pair of light wash jeans.

@macechamp. Well I usually get by with casual dress shirt with vneck and nice jeans or slacks. Never had a prob with my vans. I was just wondering what everybody else wore so maybe I could change it up.

LOL OH GOOOOOOD this is funny...
you don't have to wear casual dress shirt/pants, i seen people get in by wearing v neck and sneakers and pants
as long as you look good you'll get in...or if you got the hookup don't matter what you wear lol!~

For me, it's a single-coloured, slim fit dress shirt, a solid pair of jeans (whatever your taste) and GOOD SHOES, I prefer something like a pair of loafers.
For a more up-scale joint at a colder time, a blazer would be a good choice. Seriously, though, a bouncer will be more likely to let you in as a guy if you look good.
Also, as for the cologne, invest in something niche and suitable. If you dress like you mean business, and pull it off, I'd recommend a cologne like Creed Aventus. My personal favourite is Yves St. Laurent La Nuit De L'homme.
Wtf? What is it with all you people recommending he wear formal clothes for clubbing? You wear a T-shirt, a pair of jeans, and sneakers. Not freakin slacks and dress shoes. Oh and you're going to end up soaked in sweat, deodorant or not.
So you'd rather wait forever in line and not get let in by the bouncer? I've been to a few clubs and everyone wears casual dress shirts and sometimes jeans. I don't know about shoes though because I haven't really noticed them. I've seen people dress as you have described wait and get rejected by the bouncer. And dude it's not formal clothes lol

nice smelling cologne is good to start off the evening as well
Well that's a definite. I can't tell you how bad it is to smell the sweat of others in a crowded dance floor

I hate dancing with jeans on.. I feel so inflexible

I think you're better off with some nice darker slacks or chinos; I love neutral/gray colors also
