Hey everyone, firstly I'd like to start off by saying I know this isn't bodybuilding.com, so if bodybuilding, powerlifting, and/or general fitness doesn't interest you then please hit the back button and go back to the Anime section. There use to be a pretty big fitness community on Basil back when I would post (My last post on this account was exactly 1 year ago, October 2015). I thought that I would start a thread to see if anyone around is still lifting, hitting their macros, and making sick gains. Feel free to post your stats & goals in a similar format, I'd love to hear what other people's lifts are and what you're trying to achieve.

I'm now 25 years old, I've been lifting for about 6 years now. I consider myself more of a powerlifter than a bodybuilder since my main goal during training is strength rather than muscle growth, however I do supplement my workouts with a lot of hypertrophy as well.

At 185 lb bodyweight my big 3 are:

315 Benchpress
435 Squat
515 Deadlift

Having a lot of trouble with my weight. I've always wanted to be that Swole dude. At rest I have a 4pack & I AM NOT SATISFIED. I BARELY FIT INTO A SIZE 30.

I want them to feel loose on me. Can't imagine being below 160. At one point when I was it was a visible 6pack. Really don't know what I want. Sometimes I just eat 4000 calories because I know I ate a little the day before.

I really only train for performance. It does look cool though when I see my reflection. So I've decided to stick to a strict diet & if I'm hungry before bed I'll just have to tolerate it.

I take a lot of supplements a lot of them are just random herbs some amino acids BCAA, Zinc magnesium d,c,b & stuff. Bought testerone boosters can't tell if they work only used em for like 2 days now.

@xdarkshynobi: 98% of time test boosters you buy at nutrition stores are bunk. that 2% is when a company actually puts oral steroids in their mix and youre actually taking oral tren but you would notice fast. i trust actual testosterone more than those tbh. atleast with actual testosterone you know what your getting, i have no idea what they mixed in those capsules. you might test out for some completlty different drug and not know (there are stories). i love zma (zinc mag) gives good sleep and makes your ejaculations crazy.

I normally don't have a spotter, so I normally don't try 1RMs.

@clementz: if legit form. 225-235 for bench. 285+ squat, 395-405 deadlift+ is what i imagined are your maxes

Question. If I'm not sore the day after a workout, does that mean, I didn't workout hard enough?

+2 @upcomingnerd: pain does not equal progress. everyone thinks same thing early on. after awhile you will stop being sore from most of your workouts. after months you will only be sore if you have gotten poor sleep, not enough calories to properly recover, introduced a new movement to your workout regime.

@upcomingnerd: protein synthesise lasts hours. that is the time in which a muscle is recovering and building muscle. this countdown starts once you start working out said body part. working out that body part again before 48hrs is pointless and is counter productive, working said body part after 48hrs is preferred for growth.

@upcomingnerd: personal preference, for bigger movements such as squats, deadlifts, bench you can get away with 3min between sets. smaller movements like bicep curls, leg extension, anything that is a single joint movement, 1min is good. when i would deadlift near 90% of max which was 420lbs i would take 7min breaks
