Should I even use this skill on my f/p?

It does 280% damage and stays on for 15 seconds, and also does 130% DoT. The DoT lasts for 5 seconds.

I think it's a pretty cool skill, really makes the place look like it's completely on fire, mainly thanks to the monsters. Counts as a DoT stack too.

But idk, maybe it's just a waste and I could just be using Paralyze instead of casting Flame Gears?

Also is there any handicap for using a true UA/UE?

Flame Gears should be good. If you already stacking DoT, why wouldn't you use Flame Gears?

There shouldn't be any handicap in using UA/UE. Back then they just started with less inventory slots than normal explorers but with the advantage of starting at level 50? with the two extra skills, which you have to do quests for on normal explorers.

I was able to make 5 UA, each on different account. But since I already had every explorer, NX hairstyle and it wasn't easy to level like now, I didn't even make any UA. And the fact is that we didn't have 40 character slots. I spread all my characters over different accounts, so the advantage was that I got plenty of space but with Legion this puts me in disadvantage. Since I have many high level characters but those won't count of course to the main account I play the most.

If I'm not mistaken there's quite a noticable delay when casting it, so I'll say no when it comes to mobile bosses. They tend to mask a lot of things but since there's skill transparency nowadays it won't be a huge problem. However, if you're to toggle it to near invisible that sort of defeat the purpose of it being a cool skill, isn't it?

The only disadvantage for using an UA / UE is lower base HP / MP and fewer slots since they skipped certain job advancement but they aren't really an issue now because HP / MP increment passives are based on levels now instead of scaling on each level ups and, if you still have an UA / UE, you'll have the expanded slots already since one of the recent update that increase the maximum inventory slots literally gave you free slots.
