sending letter question
I want to send a letter to someone tomorrow, but I'm going on vacation on Saturday for a week so my parents are stopping our mail. I think they're just stopping our receiving mail but I'm not sure. Would my letter still be delivered while I'm away even though our mail is "stopped?"

Yes, it would be just fine. Once your letter is sent, it will be delivered whether or not you're at home.
It should go through just fine, they're withholding your received mail, not any outgoing. You could ask the post office if you really want to be sure, though.
