Basil, I dont understand this at all
To start it off, I know for a fact that most guys would love a girl for their looks and continue to love them with a hugh emphasis on looks, rather than personality. However, it seems like for girls, it's the total opposite. They seem to fall in love with a guy in terms of personality, no matter how ugly they would be. Are there any girls who like a guy who is shy anymore nowadays..?

I'm pretty sure men and women are as stereotypical of one another. If you're ugly like me we are butt screwed. We're going to live our days on E-harmony or adopting our own children.
That's not completely true. I see a lot of attractive guy + less attractive girl and attractive girl + less attractive guy couples a lot. (By less attractive I mean they ar...you know what I mean)
I tend to go for otaku and geeky guys

Edit: I'm not referring to anyone in particular but I have heard of a guy who was like what I described (something bad happened and he raged about it silently).

I find that girls are shallower than guys in most situations seeing as they have more options than guys do. I'm just talking from experience though.
But no one's going to like a quiet and reserved person if they have nothing else to make up for it.

I would like a shy guy as long as he talked to me and isn't insecure (has a great personality, kind, intelligent, honest and mature).
Edit: also I have to be somewhat physically attracted to him and he doesn't drink or do drugs
Shoutouts to middle-school logic. Guys only focus on personality when they want to hit and quit. If we want something serious we start evaluating the girl personality wise. Wouldn't surprise me if it went that way with women.

it goes both ways for both sexes, because attraction is something that happens on a person-to-person basis
Guys are more physically oriented, and girls are more emotional.
I don't know if you ever noticed, but a guy is quite bad at hiding his emotions for a girl he likes. He tries to play it cool, but there are always those minor details in his expressions and gestures that gives it away. For girls, they are somewhat better at hiding it and controlling their emotions.
The problems with shy guys are most shy guys tend to be insecure, have low self-esteem, or lack confidence. Those are the things that turn girls away, not because they are shy. You can be a confident person, and shy at times. As long as you have something to makeup for that "shyness" it is fine.
